Trump tells his staff get back to serving the country and ignore Pelosi and Schiff until they there's a vote in Congress to proceed with the investigation. Dem's don't want a vote since if it passes, it allows both sides to issue subpoenas as part of the investigation. The last thing Dems want is their people to be put under oath and asked questions. :D

I wonder if Trump can be impeached for refusing to be impeached?
Trump is forcing them to take a vote so everyone has to come out of the closet. The Democrats are trying to conduct an impeachment investigation without the restrictions of an official investigation. It's like a prosecutor prosecuting someone but declaring it something other than a prosecution so the accused can't put up a defense.

Trump threw the ball to Democrats and said go play with yourself!

From Pelosi's standpoint, the "inquiry" allows her to toss out claims but not provide due process to Trump.

However, there are many Democrats who, if they actually vote with zero evidence to impeach Trump, will themselves be voted out.

A weasel like Matt Cartwright from Scranton is just one example of a House member who, if he continues to bow to Pelosi, will likely lose his cushy gig in D.C. doing nothing and have to return to the miserable life of a small town lawyer hustling for bucks.
