Political discussions about everything

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Supreme Court is allowing nationwide enforcement of a new Trump administration rule that prevents most Central American immigrants from seeking asylum in the United States.

The policy is meant to deny asylum to anyone who passes through another country on the way to the U.S. without seeking protection there.

Most people crossing the southern border are Central Americans fleeing violence and poverty. They are largely ineligible under the new rule, as are asylum seekers from Africa, Asia and South America who arrive regularly at the southern border.

The shift reverses decades of U.S. policy. The administration has said that it wants to close the gap between an initial asylum screening that most people pass and a final decision on asylum that most people do not win.

“BIG United States Supreme Court WIN for the Border on Asylum!” Trump tweeted.

Justices Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Sonia Sotomayor dissented from the high-court’s order. “Once again, the Executive Branch has issued a rule that seeks to upend longstanding practices regarding refugees who seek shelter from persecution,” Sotomayor wrote.

WOW the ruling is better than I thought. It now means 100's of thousands can now be returned home without having their day in "our" courts.

This is YUGE!
The U.S. Supreme Court late Wednesday gave the Trump administration permission to enforce its toughest restriction yet on asylum seekers at the southern border, even though a lawsuit to stop the new policy is still working its way through the lower courts.

As a result, the government can now refuse to consider a request for asylum from anyone who failed to apply for it in another country after leaving home but before coming here. The order means, for instance, that migrants from Honduras, Guatemala, and El Salvador cannot seek asylum in the U.S. if they didn't first ask for it in Mexico.

"But there was no evidence at all against Kavanaugh.
None.
Just as with McCarthyism Part II -- the two years of the Mueller probe."-johnfibs

johnforbes really needs to READ the Mueller report and educate himself about how much evidence there is against Trump--Enough for impeachment and conviction.

Simply saying there isn't any without reading the evidence Mueller found is what useful tools do. (Notice RealTool does exactly the same thing. You both live in pathological denial.)

No, it was meaningless because none of them plan to ever show up in a U.S. court.

Also, nobody even knows where the DNC server is, and Mueller's report indicated that he did not even try to look at the actual server to see if there had ever been hacking as opposed to what some say -- that it was a local download by somebody like perhaps Seth Rich.

Mueller did not even look at the actual Crowdstrike report, but instead an edited version, so Mueller just accepted the party line that the DNC was hacked and did nothing apparently to even be curious about whether it really was.

Not one single charge was related to Russia, but Hillary did indeed use info from Russia -- what Chris Steele derived to cobble together the fake dossier used to lie to FISA judges and wiretap Trump.

Did Mueller investigate the Uranium One deal, and the revenues later flowing back to the Clintons? Heck no, Mueller was really a Democrat and he hired 19 Democrats as lawyers, and the whole thing was absurd.

Me? I'd actually like to know what happened on both sides, Dem and Repub, if anything. But the system of "justice" seems defunct.

Mueller testified to Congress after his investigation and said he hadn't heard of Fusion GPS. He either lied under oath or he was the most least person in D.C. concerning his investigation. Even Elk had heard of Fusion GPS.

The Supreme Court is handing Trump a lot of wins and soon there will be many more. The former FBI, CIA and DOJ people about to charged with crimes know that even if they can appeal their convictions all the way up to the Supreme Court, the court will uphold their convictions.

Yes, johnny, there were charges against Russians so, contrary to your false statement, it did indeed result in a single charge related to Russia. In fact it resulted in quite a few charges related to Russia. You can't simply make up stupid shit.

Just because you think they are "meaningless" doesn't mean there were no charges related to Russia, does it. It's a lie to repeat your personal opinion as though it were fact. Contrary to your own inflated opinion of yourself, nobody died and made you God.

And for some funny reason you're completely overlooking the evidence in the rest of the report that essentially says "I would indict Trump for obstruction, but I'm not allowed to. It's up to Congress to do what I am not allowed to do."

Sure Clown.....whatever you say..
but in the meantime...
"... the government can now refuse to consider a request for asylum from anyone who failed to apply for it in another country after leaving home but before coming here. …" :)

And if they are refused there....I'm almost certain , they will be refused here too... :O
#119143
Clown, you are making a distinction without a difference.

Obviously, my reference was to no American citizen charged.

Come on, even the most rabid Democrat now has to face the stark fact that they were lied to for 3 years about this Russia stuff which was the McCarthy Era Redux.

Brennan pushed the fake dossier to Harry Reid, and he did that surely knowing it was fake.

Weissman, Mueller's deputy, was told the dossier was fake and its content unreliable BEFORE the two years of the Mueller probe.

This was ALL an attempted administrative coup d'état.

No matter where you stand on politics, that was just wrong.
#119147
Dimwit, the Russia investigation by Mueller had nothing to do with the dossier, "fake" or not.

(Of course, it isn't "fake". It's quite real. And nothing in it has been shown to be untrue.)

Regardless, the Mueller investigation had nothing to do with it, so every time you yammer on about this nonsense only makes you look like a partisan imbecile. You're making it all up.

Elk...It is the job of the President to protect the people of this country...
You liberals have been bitchin' about it since day one of his presidency...
To that end he doesn't want to allow...people to come in and run around
the country without knowing who they are...
these people have lost everything and
chances are many will never return to the Bahamas...
I forget where I heard it once said..
There's a time for love, there's a time for wisdom, and then there's a time for strength.. :O
#119151
Dimwit, the Russia investigation by Mueller had nothing to do with the dossier, "fake" or not.
Clown, you sound like Mueller. The fake dossier was bought and paid for by Hillary and the DNC to spy on Trump and his people, it was used get search warrants to kick off the investigation.

Imagine if Trump pays someone 15 million to fabricate lies against who ever he will be running against in 2020, *** it to the media as verified information, then have his DOJ, FBI and CIA use that fabricated document as a basis to spy on that person and everyone associate with them.

In the mean time Trump has set up tent cities in Texas where the illegals are being processed, then sent home based upon the Supreme Court's ruling he can do just that.
#119155
Clown is wrong on the basics.

Corrupt top officials pretended that fake dossier was real, and pretended they were constrained to instigate a counterintel and security-related inquiry.

In reality, as is now known, it was all fake, all about politics, and all because they hated Trump.

Strzok, Page, Ohr, his wife, McCabe, Comey, Priestap, and probably toss Brennan and Clapper into the mix as well...

You can bet your ass that if Miss President Email Lady said she wanted to host the G7 at one of her crappy bedbug/roach infested sleazy omelet bar driving range golf course resorts.......the fucking republicans would be impeaching her for emoluments clause violations faster than I could even finish typing th.............
#119241
Could you image if that Lady President email had business ties with the Arabian Bone Saw prince and she announced on twitter that she was waiting for them to order her who to bomb?

Fox News and crew would have explosive diarrhea and republican congressmen would be falling all over each other in a cluster fuck to hold hearings to impeach Hillary.

Perhaps I might dissent from Elkin's statements above if they were coherent and subject to rational analysis.

However, inasmuch as they represent irrational rage, I have to proffer the diagnosis:

Elkin has Trump Derangement Syndrome, with acute symptomatology and manifestations of free-floating rage and generalized sissydom.
#119382
Well, the problem is that disliking a president is different from them being "guilty" of something.

I disliked Obama for his socialism and race-baiting -- and his general fop-like style -- but I would grant him the presumption of innocence despite the probability that he knew all about the fake dossier and the corrupt agents helping Hillary.
