Gov. Mitt Romney's campaign toasted its top donors Wednesday aboard a 150-foot yacht flying the flag of the Cayman Islands.

The floating party, hosted by a Florida developer on his yacht "Cracker Bay," was one of a dozen exclusive events meant to nurture those who have raised more than $1 million for Romney's bid.
I think it's ironic they do this aboard a yacht that doesn't even pay its taxes," said a woman who lives aboard a much smaller boat moored at the St. Petersburg Municipal Marina.

Romney's Cayman-based investments have come under fire during the campaign.

The event, attended by no more than 50 people, along with Romney relatives, including older brother Scott, appeared on no public calendars. ABC News obtained a schedule of the Romney campaign's "Victory Council" and waited dockside to speak with members.

"It was a really nice event. These are good supporters," said billionaire Wilbur Ross, an energy industry executive.

Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell was scheduled to speak.

Registered in the Caymans, and flying a version of the Caymans' "civil ensign" or merchant flag, the Cracker Bay has an impressive art collection and can seat 30 for dinner.

The Cracker Bay is owned by Gary Morse, developer of the Villages retirement community. Companies controlled by Morse gave nearly $1 million to the pro-Romney Restore Our Future superPAC.

Romney to date has declined to identify the names of his top "bundlers" -- those who gather checks from scores of donors on the candidate's behalf.

"He is the first nominee in 12 years to withhold these names," said Sheila Krumholz, executive director of the Center for Responsive Politics, which tracks political money on the website opensecrets.org.

"These are the most important insiders," she said. "The public needs to know who these people are because thy are the one's who stand to gain the most from a Romney presidency."

Her group and others have gathered more than 20,000 signatures from people calling on Romney to name his top bundlers.

Campaign officials at the event declined comment."I think Gov. Romney is going to do what he has to to follow the law," Gov. McDonnell told ABC News.

Among those attending was Mel Sembler, a former top supporter of President George W. Bush and Charlie Moncrief, an oil executive from Texas, and his wife Kit. Other guests covered up their nametags as they exited for waiting busses and SUVs to take them to their next event.

Kit Moncrief said she and her husband had pledged to raise $1 million for Romney. When asked about the fundraising, she said:

"We don't like it either, but it's the system," she said.

This should be all you need to know.. Romney isn't even trying to hid the fact that he's only out to make the rich richer and help hide their money from playing taxes.. The man is on a ship that flies the flag of the country they hide their money in.

They don't hate America, that talk does little good but to inflame. They "the ultra rich" are just clueless to what it really means to be "middle class". They don't understand the concept of what the middle class interprets as patriotic and just. When Romeny stated his wife drove two Caddys, he didn't have a clue the effect of that statement. When he wears a pair of levi's with a pair of $600 loafers he doesn't see why some might ridicule him for being out of touch with the "unwashed masses".
The exception might be Sam Walton, or Warren Buffett. And I havn't a clue how FDR did what he did for the poor/middle class during the depression with his status as an in my opinion an "ultra Rich" president.

Middle class voters should be awaken this election. They should go out to vote during election day. If they think Romney and the republicans will help them uplift their lives they are wrong.

The picture above is clear evidence where the real priority of republicans when they think nobody is watching. The rich.

And even middle class republicans or moderate republicans should think of it as well. They are just being used by the rich inciting anger among them through gay marriage, abortion, minorities and other social issues. This with the main purpose of driving them to vote in the polls. But while the middle class republicans remain within the same level. The 1% republicans grew even more richer.

They don't care about cultural values in reality. David Koch just admitted he believes in gay marriage. Even Rush Limbaugh paid Elton John to sing at his wedding. He pretends he does not support gay marriage just for his ratings but he doesn't really care about it.

Romney looks really awkward in his speech....fake smile..trying to be a regular guy....even the cameraman takes the focus on his face if he looks too awkward for a few seconds....

You just can't fake who you are in just one night and expect it to go flawless when you are not that person day by day in real life....it just shows...

I'm sure Romney himself is an ok guy. Not a natural speaker but a good at what he does.
The dems are going after his image and his team is behind the eightball. The pic above is just an example. He knew he was going to run for president for what 10 years? Yet didn't go out of his way to clean up his paper trail of taxes. What, his opponents wouldn't look there? Why his team didn't think hiding money in Swiss, and Cayman islands wouln't be found is what I call his cluelesness. His greed in telling his accountants to go for it all in attaining wealth is now biting him in the ass. He should have said "look I'm going to run for office so I need to have ultra clean tax returns". But greed of money took control. As if 100 mil as compaired to 200 mil would make much of a difference to his lifestyle. The flag, no big deal, he was just someone invited on the boat of one of his superpac donors, but it represents his teams clulesness of the them vs us barrier. And they haven't figured it out yet.
I guess he will be forced to buy one of those Cayman Islands and enjoy his retirement drinking virgin pina coloda's with a little american flag sticking out, Not in DC where his ego wants him to be doing the countries business.
His greed could very well cost him his dream job

The point is entitlement, privilege and exemption from the laws for the wealthy are desired by the GOP, but a little security and well being for the working person is an atrocity for the GOP.

The GOP leadership are the ultimate elitist hypocrites.

It's amazing how liberals crucify people that have wealth, but cherish people that have never worked a day in their lives.

Seems that liberals also can't tell the truth, or at least they hide it - the Yacht IS not owned by Romney.

Why haven't the liberals made issues out of the Yachts that are owned by celebrities and billionaires that support Obama, that are registered in foreign countries?

BFD. The Donk-0-Scum are so desperate to destroy their opponent that they are clutching at any straw they can reach. This is their only option given that their failed Community Organizer has nothing on which he can run.
This "News Flash" has already been forgotten Donks, what's next?

Get used to saying President Romney.

I can hardly wait for Ryan to rip Joe Bidet limb from limb in the debate. Bidet will become so flustered there is no telling what hilarious bullshit will come out of his mouth. That is if he doesn't provoke a world war with some comment between now and then.
And Hussein trying to debate without a Teleprompter? That is going to be impressive as well. How many extra states will the failed Community Organizer in Chief invent this time?

Not once did anyone who posted above say the yacht was owned by Romney. Why you claim they did is beyond me. Did you read the Posts, if so so show us where it was said.
Maybe you've missed it, or you're just a tad smarter than most liberals, but the wording is such that the masses will think that it's Romney's Yacht or that he has some financial connection to it.

How come they never mentioned the Yachts actually owned by Democrat politicians?
