Old fogies like johnforbes have been indoctrinated in capitalism, but not educated about its many, many, many, many repeated and predictable failures. But for some reason he hypocritically thinks that past failures of socialism automatically eliminate it from consideration.

Despite johnforbes' naive and simplistic comment, capitalism as we know it won't address a problem like homelessness....ever. There is no profit in it. The homeless don't have money and don't consume enough, so they become irrelevant. Under capitalism, their lives won't be 'dragged' anywhere, let alone "upward".

It's not by mistake that the most socialist/liberal cities in the United States, create the most homeless and drug problems? It's time to get in the face of the leaders in those cities when ever they're out in public until they start dealing with the problems they've created.

No "leaders of those cities" (of ANY city)caused the banking collapse and global recession that caused people to lose their homes and jobs, or for the veterans who became opioid addicts because of Washington policies.
