Come on, johnny, surely you know Trump has been cutting aid to those Central American countries and that he was warned by his own people that it was a mistake to do so.

There is no way to stop human migrations on a large scale. People have migrated when it became absolutely necessary for as long as Homo Sapiens has been on Earth. Only an imbecile would believe you can stop mass migrations by simply wishing them away. What Trump is doing is handing off the consequences of his own foreign policy (consequences he was warned about by State AND the military before he fired many of our best people) to another country.

All Trump is saying is that he wants his cake and wants to eat it too. He thinks he can cut foreign aid to desperate people and then not expect them to flee those desperate circumstances. Now he's trying more tariffs that will reduce jobs in Mexico, and then he (and you) will be upset when a flood of newly unemployed Mexicans cross our borders as well. But you'll have nothing to say about the very foreign policy of Trump's that caused it. Conservatives just keep their heads buried in the sand and hope it will all go away.

But the Left has the intellectual problem of believing every culture is of almost equal merit when that is not true.

America is the best big experiment in democracy in the sad history of humankind on this planet.

Trump is merely using a little trade leverage to try to get Mexico to seal up a few chokepoints on its border with Guatemala.

That would be easy for Mexico to do, but Mexico wants to continue to offload its failed citizens onto the U.S. in the form of 12 million illegal immigrants.

One thing for sure, countries are quickly learning that if they make a verbal agreement with Trump, he will get up and walk out if they try and change the terms of the agreement at the last moment.

Countries are used to dealing with Obama, all Obama wanted was a "signed agreement" so he could crow about it, it didn't matter the agreement screwed America, it was about Obama. Look at Iran, they told Obama they would sign a paper if Obama gave them billions of dollars, released their top nuclear scientist from US prison, stop all sanctions and agree that Iran would only allow inspectors to look at sites they allowed them to look at. They even got Obama to agreed to Iran picking the inspectors that were limited to where they could inspect.

Obama then went on television, held up the agreement and said "I am the first President to get Iran to give up their nuclear program"

Asking Mexico to seal its southern border is a far cry from turning Mexico into a prison.

It is, per contra, demanding the Mexico stop letting a constant stream of illegals flow through to the U.S.
