There is an ongoing, decades-old issue of managing the border, not an "emergency." The flow of illegals now is smaller than it was years ago.

If Republicans had allowed immigration judges to be confirmed, the issue could be dealt with under existing law. But Republicans have been holding up confirmations for years. They don't want the problem handled under the law by judges. They want the Army patrolling their neighborhoods so they can stop pissing themselves and feel safe from blacks and Muslims and Mexicans.

Of course, none of them has ever even SEEN a black or a Muslim or a Mexican (other than their house cleaner and their child's nanny.)

Now Republicans have cut diplomats and foreign aid to many countries specifically to exacerbate the problem of poor and desperate people fleeing to the U.S..
