johnforbes is being purposely obtuse. He knows perfectly well that elklindo hasn't "urged others to reveal their tax returns." johnforbes simply made that up.
What he "urged" is that Trump (that's one person, not "others") release HIS tax returns exactly as all Presidents have done for decades.
Yes, tax returns should be private---unless you are the leader of the United States with staggering power to abuse.
In Trump's case, he owes millions of dollars to foreign entities, he is under the thumb of foreign creditors which could cause our President to make decisions in his own interest instead of the interests of the American people. There is no such thing as a rule that applies 100% of the time to everyone. The President is an exception to many rules that apply to regular people like elklindo and johnforbes.
Just because johnforbes chooses to blindly put his life into the hands of a person with unknown motivations, that is no reason the rest of us should naively choose that same willful ignorance.
