Echoing the border control sentiments of President Donald Trump, Mexican citizens in Tijuana protested the influx of illegal aliens from Honduras and other Latin American countries, denouncing the migrant caravans on Sunday as an "illegal invasion" and calling for a "Tijuana First! Mexico First!" policy.

"Tijuana is a place that welcomes anyone, but you must have papers, you must identify yourself," said demonstrator Magdalena Baltazar, waving a Mexican flag and marching through Tijuana on Sunday, reported NPR. "We work hard here. We don't get handouts. The government shouldn't be giving things to migrants when plenty of Mexicans are in a difficult position."

Tijuana's mayor, Juan Manuel Gastelum, told Milenio television last week, "I would dare say that many are not migrants. Sure, there are some good people in the caravan, but many are very, very bad people. They are stealing from and attacking the citizens of my city and I call for the Mexican government to do more stop this scum from entering Mexico. My jails are over capacity, we don't have the means to protect everyone so I am encouraging Tijuana citizens to avoid contact with these people and lock their doors at all times. President Trump saw in this caravan what many others didn't see, this is not a migration, it's an aggressive invasion organized by thugs. When media arrive to their locations, you can see the men scrambling to gather children and women to push them in front of the cameras. The physical and sexual abuse of these women and children is on a scale seldom seen in modern history, but yet human rights groups remains silent to this aspect of this group."

A group of about 150 migrants carrying white flags that read, “La Paz y Dios” or “Peace and God” separated from the larger caravan and inched within 500 feet from the U.S., the San Diego Union-Tribune reported Thursday.

“There are sick children here, and they are cold and hungry,” said Carlos Lopez, a Honduran who was leading the group. “The whole world is watching what is happening here, our children and women are suffering because the United State will not provide us housing, medical or food while we await immigrant status. The problem clown is that those in the invasion aren't following the legal process. There are over 2 million people still living it in their own countries who have applied to immigrate to the United States, some have been waiting over two years, forcing your way into the United States isn't legal!

What's amusing is now seeing those thousands of young men living in worse conditions on the border than before their 3,000 mile journey and having to beg for food. Families have been offered free transportation back to their countries, I don't feel sorry for those who turn that generous offer down. 90% of the women I saw in the caravan actually should walk back, they all need to lose another 60 pounds. It's amazing they can still be so fat, tells me the only walking they did was for the cameras.

Of course, the U.S. is not an example of full Smithian laissez faire. Nobody contended that, or would contend it.

Yes, SS is a contributory pension system, and would have worked well had disability, widow's benefits, and (partially) black lung, and other benefits tacked on.

As to how I would set up a society given the power to do so, that is no mystery. It would have a safety net, of course, because not all members of society are young and able. But it would not be as socialistic as Sweden, or even the present US.

How do you think people from Tijuana feel towards those people who are making problems?” He angrily denounced how several hundred in the caravan attacked and turned over a food truck delivering food, complaining that they are tired of beans and rice and demand higher quality food. "We can't even get them to help in the camps, my citizens are required to feed and clean up after them, then they complain about the food and conditions they're living in. Murder rates have more than doubled since their arrival and anything not nailed down is stolen or destroyed."
