Now to stop Trump's appointees not only does every Democrats have to vote against that person, 3 Republican Senators would have to vote with the Democrats ( :lol: ). Trump will stack EVERY Federal Judge and Supreme Court position with the most conservative people he can and not a damn thing Democrats can do to stop him.

Clownkicker, re your 10/6 post. I think that, with the GOP in charge of the Senate, Trump still holds some aces in his hand. If the Dems want something, Trump is in a position to demand something in return. I wouldn't be surprised to see that stupid wall of his built just to get something that the Dems want. Hopefully, we just might get some action on our infrastructure, although we would have to claw back some of the money lost in the GOP tax cut.

Sure, snake, that's politics. But what will happen is money will be allocated to repair and/or upgrade a half mile of fence some place where it is actually needed, Trump will declare that he built the wall, and his followers will swallow it and cheer the 'great deal maker'. We can't stop that sort of foolishness.

The infrastructure is the first thing that should have been done, before the tax cuts made it infeasible. We desperately need it and it is something both sides could have gotten on board with, making Trump look like an actual winner instead of the joke his 'deals' are. To do it now would require some taxes, but Republicans are still pretending they will cut them further. Republican so-called 'fiscal conservatives' can't grasp that debt should be paid down in good times, because it CAN'T be paid down in bad times. Instead, they have accelerated the rate of debt increase during these 'good times'.

I actually HOPE that some horse trading gets done so that the government starts working again as it should. Democrats and Republicans NEED to start working together again or we're lost.

Well we have a new game. Trump just fired Sessions and replaced him with a "loyalist." We are fast approaching a Constitutional crisis. I don't count Mueller out though, he's been around a long time and he knows a few games of his own.

Once more indictments are handed down, Trump would need to blatantly obstruct justice in order stop the prosecutions.
At that point, I think even Republicans would be willing to impeach.
