Once you have Medicare, you don't need to pay for that insurance any longer. That means your Federal taxes could increase by $12,000 a year and you wouldn't feel a thing in your budget. Nothing would change except that your life would become easier and more certain.

Right now we pay more than any other country for our healthcare and get worse outcomes for the money. We could learn by studying what would actually improve outcomes and cut costs to the level of other developed countries.

That's how you "just pay for it."
