Political discussions about everything

Collectively, I think we all can agree that the world is changing. For many of us it is changing faster than we like and faster than some can handle. If you keep up with the new advances in science from the commercial laboratories and universities around the world, the future looks very different than the world today. AI (artificial intelligence) is growing faster each day and will change life as we know it. It will also change the politics that we are arguing about now.

a. Many of us own Amazon's Echo Dot (Alexa) which uses AI in ways that people couldn't dream of just a few years ago.

b. AI is in our cars, workplace, homes and businesses right now.

c. In a grocery store in China, customers walk through the store putting what they want in their bags and then just walk out of the store without talking to anyone or even checking out. AI scans what is in the bags, scans the card in their wallts and deducts the total from their bank account.

d. NASA is using AI extensively in their space adventures. Tasks are programmed into the equipment and then AI decides what to do with the samples taken.

e. Utility companies are using drones fitted with AI to inspect utility lines and natural gas lines. The drones can decide if the problem is serious enough to remain on site to direct the repair crews or to continue inspecting..

f. A team of Harvard researchers are in Namibia studying how termites build the hue termite mounds. These ow intelligence insects build complex mounds with rooms that have special purposes. While the termites seem identical, the researchers have found that each has special talents and specific jobs. The purpose of this research is how to use AIin construction.

g. Futurists say that novels in 25 years will be composed by AI. In 35 years they say that novels will be composed by AI and be specifically made for the criteria that you ask for, You might ask for a novel with a cheating husband, his wife shoots him and she gets away with it and AI will pump out a novel fitting your criteria.

h. AI is deeply entrenched in politics, With the info that the tracking companies such as Google have on you politicians have a good idea how you are going to vote and will target ads to change your mind.

i. Russia, China and the United States are investing heavily in AI for warfare. Envision a scene where a bunch of military hardware attacks Paris and wipes it out to the last human with no harm to the attackers troops. Many of our own planes use some AI to perform their duty.

j. Futurists say that in 135 years no one will be working and every job will be performed by AI guided machines.

135 years is a blink of the eye in human history. In the near future there will be 7 billion people on this planet. How will people pay for goods? How will the land be used? Will AI decide what laws are the best for people? Will AI pick the politicians that it feels is best for the people? What if the people don't agree with AI's laws or politicians?

Probably none of us will be alive in 135 years but we should be thinking of the future of our heirs. AI, will all of it's benefits, poses some heavy questions that we should start thinking about today.

Ford has announced plans to start selling vehicles with no steering wheels or controls as early as 2025. AL will be your driver. AWE work environments are becoming the norm in many companies due to automation and I tell my television what I want to watch instead of having to search the channels. A typical 10 year old knows more about the capabilities of a smart phone than a 50 year old.

It's hard to learn how to use something new, when your life's experiences tells you it's not possible to work. Yes, changes will happen faster than most older people (over 40) will be able to keep up with.

There are already over 7 billion people.

But it is true that big changes are on the horizon.

For example, the biggest threat to the First Amendment (not to mention others) happens to be social media.

No real liberal would want to shadow ban Repubs.

And it isn't just Dems and Repubs because both the DNC and RNC tried to halt Trump's rise.

They still are, the whole DC establishment is trying to remove Trump because he just doesn't understand that the "people" can't grasp what's really good for them, the people need the establishment to think for them. Trump represents the people's voice and is a danger to the establishment.

AI researchers have repeatedly found that machine learning software picks up biases in the data from which it learns. This bias has been demonstrated in text, images, and audio, and now the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) is bringing this message to US lawmakers.

A test by the civil-rights organization trained Amazon Rekognition, the company’s machine learning tool specifically meant for facial recognition, to match faces with 25,000 publicly-available mugshots, and then had the algorithm try to match mugshots with images of members of the US Congress, according to a blog post from ACLU lawyer Jacob Snow. Not only did the algorithm falsely match 28 members of Congress to criminal mug shots, but the false matches were more common for congresspeople of color.

There you go, proof that blacks are more likely to be criminals than whites. The algorithm is smart. We all already know that by looking at factual stats and our own everyday observations...but that's considered racist because we're humans. Now we AL which ONLY acts upon facts and not biases or racism, telling us all what we already know. Even Jesse Jackson says if he sees a group of black males coming his way, he'll cross the street to avoid them and he doesn't do that with groups of white males.

It contains all the immovable biases it learned from initially faulty data.
