Political discussions about everything

I had to chuckle the other night when I heard that the Trump base is calling for him to be given the Nobel Prize for getting North Korea to the bargaining table.

Let's look at a few facts. Pennsylvania (46055 sq. mi) is close to the size of North Korea (46539 sq. mi.) During the last nuke test in North Korea the mountain under which they fired off the nukes collapsed making it unusable for any tests in the future. It is unknown if there is any radiation leakage from the collapse. Due to the size of North Korea there is no other place for nuke tests without a major construction project with massive expenditures which would bankrupt North Korea. It is believed that North Korea doesn't have the technology to put nukes on ballistic missiles at this time. Naturally this means that no North Korean nukes will hit the USA in the near future. Without testing the ability to put nukes on missiles is problematic.

The sanctions are working. The UN has passed 8 resolutions calling for the member countries to impose sanctions on North Korea. The USA, Australia, Japan, The European Union and (to a lesser extent,-some petroleum products) China are the main countries that have imposed sanctions.

The above facts are the reason that Kim wants to meet. He has to. North Korea is still a huge threat even without a missile armed with a nuke to hit the USA. The North Korean Army is estimated to be 950,000 strong. In a war with North Korea, significant casualties would be suffered by South Korea, the USA, Australia and probably Japan.

Thanks to the sanctions and military pressure Trump forced on North Korea that 950,000 person Army has had to revert to eating grass to survive plus they don't have the resources to do training. Trump had brought North Korea to their knees without getting on of our soldiers injured, something no other President has been able to do.

Even Putin says he would never have imagined two years ago that North Korea would be talking peace as they are today.

Now Trump has turned his sights on Iran. Appeasement didn't work in North Korea and it isn't working in Iran. Trumps hardest mission is going to be getting Europe to stop supporting Iran financially and put tough sanctions in place.

Trump has earned one Noble Peace Prize and he's about to earn a second, but first he has to convince the UN and EU as he did on North Korea.

The key to this has always been China, and Trump has apparently done enough arm-twisting there to get some relevant local help.

Although Trump-haters on the Left, and Trump-haters in the media, and Trump-haters within the Repub Party like McCain will never give Trump any credit, he has done more to solve this than purportedly bright Barry O (with his secret SAT and LSAT scores) ever did.

Yep, North Korea could always turn to China but Trump made it clear to China, they could either do business with North Korea or the United States but not both. Trump looked their leader in the eye and told him he wasn't bluffing, that cut off North Korea's life line. Combined that with Trump flexing our military muscle by send war ships off of North Korea's coast and getting the UN and EU to join us on increasing sanctions, North Korea had no choice. An Army needs, beans, bullets and fuel or they can't fight, North Korea's Army has reverted to raiding citizens homes for food while eating grass for most of their meals. The have no fuel, only their top military members are allowed to travel in vehicles, the rest have to walk.

Today North Korea announced they will immediately start dismantling their nuclear facilities to show they are serious about destroying their nuclear weapons and will not wait for the meeting with Trump to do so.

ALL of this came about since Trump became President.

@realDonaldTrump

North Korea has announced that they will dismantle Nuclear Test Site this month, ahead of the big Summit Meeting on June 12th. Thank you, a very smart and gracious gesture!

Yeah......really Donald!

It isn't enough to say N Korea couldn't deliver strikes on us. That is both true and relevant, but not enough.

The U.S. has other areas to consider here, such as Japan.

N Korea has aleady threatened Guam.

Instead of attempting to appease N Korea, as Obama did, Trump told them that it would not be a good idea for them to lob nukes in the direction of Guam.
