Well they've determine the e coli is a result of human feces, (no shit) and the contamination occurred prior to the lettuce arriving at the packaging plants (no shit). CDC investigators have identified the lettuce came from farms in Arizona which provide over 40% of the romaine lettuce is grown. Over 60 known cases have been identified in 13 different States. What you have are illegals getting their form of pay back. There's a reason illegals won't eat salad.

I'd be willing to bet over half of the field works who picked that lettuce can't even speak English...of course the majority of them are illegals.

Farmers like to hire illegals, not because they pay American workers more, but illegals costs the farmers less. They pay them cash so the farmers avoid paying employer federal taxes, they don't give them benefits and if they get hurt, they just hire another illegal to replace him, no worry about worker comp claims. Farmers insulate themselves by hiring an illegal crew boss who does the hiring, firing and paying them. If shit hits the fan, the farmer pretends ignorance then fires the illegal crew boss to wash his hands of it and recommends the crew boss to another farmer who he sends away with a big wad of money. Those illegal crew bosses are like gold and they know their job is to insulate the owners, they also knowing being illegal themselves they won't be prosecuted. I know this because I have a very good friend who is a farmer in California. So you ask me how do I know they're illegal?

The lettuce pickers could just as easily be on legal visas as not. Without evidence, one can't know. These clowns here certainly don't know.
They just insist their warped view of reality is real. Facts never enter into it for the conservative mind. What they WANT to believe becomes their truth, regardless of all evidence to the contrary.

This problem has nothing to do with immigration status of the workers. It has to do with the farmers not having enough outhouses close enough to the pickers. The fields are huge.

Workers get paid by the pound or piece or box. If they have to walk ten minutes to the can and ten minutes back, plus a five minute shit, they lose a good chunk of their day's money. So why would they do that?

If the outhouses were within a minute's walk no matter where the pickers in the field are, they would shit where they are supposed to.

You're getting upset at laborers when you should be mad at the cheap ass farmers who don't take care of their workers with adequate facilities. And that includes hand washing stations by the outhouses.
Also, by not taking care of their workers, by extension, the farmers are not taking care of YOU.
