Mueller knows that the investigation was a complete bust and to admit it would destroy the reputation he's worked all his life to establish. He knows after learning of the collusion to frame Trump he should have washed his hands of it, but for what ever reason he continued on in hopes they would find the brass ring to save face, but it never happened.

At this point Mueller just wants out but he can't admit he should have stopped the investigation long ago. His way out is to piss Trump off so Trump fires him, at that point he can wash his hands of the investigation and claim he was given the opportunity to finish the investigation and prove the collusion. Of course his successor will fail...because he's not as good a Mueller, but Mueller saves face.

Mueller thought the raids on Trump's personal attorney would push Trump over the edge. I wondered why Trump didn't fire him then it dawned on me, Trump is playing chess and I fell into the trap of playing checkers like those trying to frame him. Trump is DA MAN!!! The Demos were so elated when the FBI raided Cohen, they temporarily forgot Cohen was once a Democrat and
used to hang with the Clintons.....
The so call legal analysts are now saying this is a separate investigation from the Mueller Russian investigation..
and the FBI will follow the rules of lawyer/client privilege.....ALL Bullshit of course.
But I'm thinking, forget about the President for a minute..
Cohen did work with a lot of different powerful people who are going to be hard to convince
information on their business dealings even if legal will not be leaked ...

Rest assured if any damaging information on the Clintons was collected during those raids, it will be turned over to the Clintons with an apology. During his investigation of Russian connections Mueller has to have ran across a ton of information on the Clintons and the DNC...yet no raids on them or their attorneys.
