A teacher at a Georgia high school was arrested today after the individual apparently barricaded themselves in a classroom, police said.

Police in Dalton, Georgia, responded to a report this afternoon of shots fired at Dalton High School. The Dalton Police Department warned parents via Twitter not to come to the school and said a suspect "believed to be a teacher" was "barricaded" in a classroom.

Around 11:30 a.m., during the school's third-period class, some students were trying to get into the teacher's classroom, and the teacher would not let them inside, Dalton Police Department Spokesperson Bruce Frazier said in a press conference Wednesday afternoon.

When the principal arrived at the classroom, the teacher forced the door closed and wouldn't let him in, Frazier said. The principal then used his key to enter the classroom and heard a gunshot go off once he was inside.

The principal then placed the school on lockdown, Frazier said. Police arrived on the scene shortly after the lockdown and convinced the teacher to surrender and let them in about 30 to 45 minutes later, Frazier said. He was then taken into custody without incident.

Teachers are for the most part are those who can't handle full time employment or accountability. I wouldn't trust most of them with a weapon since they would spent all 5 hours of their work day thinking about the weapon rather than preaching.

Nope, but I do think Trump is giving to much credit to the average teacher who is nothing more than someone who couldn't succeed in the work force so joins the union. I wouldn't trust 90% of them with any type of weapon. The fact they are allowed contact with children is also concerning.

That makes sense, the issue is that 90% of teachers are libtards that shouldn't even be allowed around children little alone handling a gun. Private schools tend to have more conservative teachers since libtard teachers can't handle a real job and don't last long before returning to public schools. So I can see issuing weapons to most private school teachers.

the biggest issue is the Army wouldnt alow MPs to carry a loaded weapon. That was left up to their counter part a private security company. It was the Ft. Hood shooting that got the upper idiots to realize MP are first line defense.

The Navy, Marines, And Air Force all certify (LEOSA) their Military Police. It wasnt until this past year that the Army started certifying their MPs. they are all qualified LEOSA now. the coast Guard has been for years. depending on what your MOS is.
