Maryland is considering allowing medical marijuana. The application fee proposed is $6000. The license is proposed at $125,000. Each dispensary will cost $40,000 in fees. The inspections and regulation is proposed to cost $3.5 million per year (tons of patronage jobs for people you wouldn't want anywhere near your business.) Wow, just think of all of that new money to spend and all of the votes you can buy.

Just goes to show that a Democrat state, if the situation persists for too long, becomes a total mess.
I know people born and raised in Maryland who are now looking for ways to leave it.

John, this might be a another reason for them wanting to leave.....
The Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene released a report Thursday that says the chicken Marsala served at a buffet lunch on April 9 during the 2014 Food Safety Summit at the Baltimore Convention Center caused a gastroenteritis outbreak that sickened 216 attendees.

In the unintended consequences department,
Colorado is now experiencing a vast influx of homeless people who found out their EBT cards can be used to purchase weed at the local pot shop.
I noticed during a recent drive through rural Colorado that every little one horse town has it's own dope emporium. All with a large green cross prominently displayed on the side. The liquor stores sell weed infused energy drinks (now THERE is an oxymoron if there every was one) and weed candy (good marketing idea there).
But it is also being reported that the dope shop weed is more expensive than the type sold by the shady types on the street corner and projected dope tax revenues are not hitting projected levels.
So, instead of just having a bunch of happy, lethargic, unproductive louts laying around consuming Doritos and Oreos, you have a whole bunch of new problems cropping up and consuming the tax dollars paid in by the (increasingly diminishing) productive people.
Hope and change, yes we can!

Just the other day, some Russian was mocking the U.S.
And perhaps he was correct to do so because the U.S. seems busily engaged in destroying its greatness.
