Now It's Up to SCOTUS - Equality or Bigotry?

Probably will punt on Prop 8.

Probably will repeal the section of DOMA.

It's interesting how some of the "conservative" justices will most likely support traditional bigotry simply because it is their traditional bigotry and will probably entirely ignore all legal principle and precedence and the fact that there has been no valid legal defense of this bigotry.

It's sad how there "conservatives" ignore the principle of freedom, liberty, and equality and vote for "false moral" bigotry.

I hope they go with equality rather than bigotry. There are enough "special" interest groups who receive "special" treatment. Gays shouldn't be given special privileges, marriage should remain between a man and a women.

Oh, marriage should remain a special privilege for those who are heterosexuals and those who choose to pretend they are heterosexuals.

It's pathetic how the bigots always try to twist straight forward moral arguments inside out to state that recognizing equality is a "special right". However, if that's all you have, I guess, it's what you have to go with. It's an old argument that has been used against, women, blacks, Irish, Italians, Scots, Germans, etc. It's an old and always corrupt argument that has always been recognized as such in the richness of time.

It's not a special privilege, it's the law!

Next you'll be arguing that denying pedophiles to molest children is bigotry against pedophiles.

What's pathetic here is that the true bigotry and hatred is coming from people like Bilbo. What they will never acknowledge is that the moral objection people have comes from their religious beliefs and convictions. When those people refuse to act against their convictions and beliefs he attacks them for it.
People like Bilbo feel they are morally superior. And that everyone else must change and pervert their beliefs for his sake.
Attacking or hating someone for their religion or their beliefs or not abandoning those beliefs is the very definition of intolerance and bigotry. People like Bilbo are intolerant and bigoted.

Oh, now look who's attacking me. So you've joined forces with the extreme fringes of liar leroy and justupid, with vile extravagant lies and distortions. To have a discussion one must start with facts and leave out all bigotries. One must tell the truth, those are not present in your argument.

Interesting that you burn yourself as Bilbo while posting as Freedman - sad that you can't just pick on Nick and post as that.

He's right though - I "Tolerate" positions I do not accept, I "Tolerate" that gays want to do XYZ, I "Tolerate" that gays want equality, but I accept that we can get past this by removing the word Marriage and replacing it with UNION.

Gays and people like you show your hate and intolerance by demanding changes from others that contradict their beliefs, making you bigots and hate filled zealots as bad as the Terrorists. You seek to destroy anything that doesn't "ACCEPT" your beliefs and you show your hate for anyone/anything that disagrees with you.

The "Tolerant" solution is simple - Change "Marriage" to "Union" in legal/regulation documents, but leave "Marriage" as it has always been.

Your malignant paranoia is extremely clear with each and every post. Just a little more so in this one, liar leroy.

You may believe what you want. You may worship and believe in any god you want. We are talking about equality under the law. Nothing more, nothing less. The United States was founded and anchored in multidenominationalism because people of good faith understood that they would never agree. People of bad faith like you still insist on religious autocracy, which has always lead to murder by bullies like you. You are free to believe that god is a malignant bigot. I would expect that.

And you can't find a religious group, nor with our founding fathers, that supported Same-Sex Marriage or the idea of changing the definition of "Marriage" to include Same-Sex couples.

The bullies, haters, intolerant, are people like you, demanding that people change their beliefs, their religious beliefs, their views, to make another group happy - ignoring that you're making the first group unhappy and oppressing them for the sake of your own hate and intolerance.

Since the gays want Marriage Equality, and they claim they mean the same benefits, the solution is simple, change the laws/regulations to read "Union" instead of "Marriage", and that solves the issue, completely, for everyone, without anyone being forced to change their beliefs or ideals.

How intolerant and hate filled it is of gays and their supporters to not see "Union" instead of changing the definition of "Marriage".
