Open Discussions about the VoyeurWeb.com site

I had gotten a whole lot of emails regarding the drama of VC/VW, and many people are upset that we are even bringing it up on the free VW forums, which is understandable as the site is about community, naked women, and fun, not about legalities. They explained that they do not care about VC and asked why we were making any sort of big deal about it, rather than focusing on VW, which is absolutely correct.

I do agree however that there are many discussions to be had regarding VW and how to make it better. I would love for there to be more posts about how we can improve this site on the Suggestions and Changes topic, so we can keep the General Discussion all about the women of VW, the photos/videos they contribute, and the community, while still making continual progress in perfecting the site from all angles with input from users, members, and contributors alike.

Actually, this is the perfect place to discuss the injunction and related legal issues because you can reach a lot of people here.
Those that don't care or think you are making a "big deal" about it can simply choose not to read the posts.
Taking down the thread will have people screaming about censorship.
More information is better than less.

I agree with Jho. VW raised the issue of the injunction both here and in the RC BB in the first place, so the notion that it should be off limits to discussion seems very strange. Besides which, the thread contained important critical perspectives on the sites that are now gone and unlikely to be restated.

People will be less likely to air their concerns here if they think that some grousing from those who don't want to read about anything contentious is going to cause them to be removed. VW cannot learn about people's concerns and respond to them unless those views are expressed. They can be expressed privately to VW staff, but mostly they won't be, because no one will know that others share their concerns.

VW should be very careful about exercising censorship, especially after it was so badly abused before Kiki took over. There may be isolated instances where it is warranted, but removing a long and involved thread like this goes too far.

Moreover, the injunction and impending court case may very materially affect VW itself, and not just VC, depending upon how events unfold, yet we are now left to suspect that any attempt to discuss them might be blocked. This board in fact went suddenly very quiet after that thread was shut down.

Maybe we should be glad the thread is gone. I mean with the lawsuit-happy owners at VW, who knows who might be next to be served?

I've expressed my opinion on the lawsuit as being something counter to what VW once stood tall above all other amateur websites. VW never felt threatened by those copyrats. They dared the copyrats to try and be as good, as innovated as VW was. VW knew no other site could match them. No need to sue. Let everyone see how pathetic the sites were, and the contributors could make their choice.

Times have changed. The merits of the case not withstanding, the very idea that VW ran to the courts to get a judge to order the censorship of the internet is most disturbing to me.

With people following legal advice like that, maybe it is best VW censors their BB from discussions about the injunction after they crowed so loudly about their court room exploits.

The management elected that they wanted to focus more on the fun and entertainment portion of the business and let the court cases be dealt with by the lawyers.

So far VC is back up by changing their name and setting up a series of servers so that as one gets taken down by court order another can come up and take it's place.

FAQ, VW has used legal means in the past to have sites remove content stolen from VW. Granted, it has never had an employee leave and give/sell the entire user database of emails and log ins to another site before.

VW would go after other sites only when the contributor requested help. VW does not own the copyright. VW had no legal standing about other sites. But with the contributor's request, VW legal team could act on the contributor's behave.

This is a world's difference.

Some copyrat sites have ripped off the very look of VW pages. VW never went all legal on them.

Hence, this new thing of taking legal means, and possibly dragging unwilling contributors into the legal battle is short sighted.

I'd say stealing the content and member's email list is short sighted, not to mention the log in database.

And then there is the whole, "if I can't have it I'm going to make it public domain" issue that Iggy wants to pull.

Hey Dark,

Merry Xmas!!

Igor stole alot, I wonder though if you can add any clarity to who has control of the old titflash database?

Kiki refues to respond to my requests for a clarification.

LOL RC, I am doing no such thing, I just don't have the proper information yet to give a definite yes or no on if we could bring back the old flashes. Will let you know as soon as I do, but so far from what I can tell the answer is leaning towards yes :D

That's good to hear. If I can help I would be glad to. Igor has the data base he took and as far as I know he is still in Europe but should be under the jurisdiction of the courts here, and to my lil non legal mind, it should be possible to regain it in it's entirety......
