Amazing. Whomever is the Adminstrator of the VW's Wiki pages is being anal. I got banned. No reason given. Per a contributor's request, I overwrote a couple of images - easily reverted if the powers to be so desired, but instead, I get banned and blocked indefinitely.

Wiki is suppose to be an open source project with multiple authors. The new-VW seems intent on making a solo project. For what purpose? No one can tell. If you did not like my edits, reverting the edits is simple to do. Banning is reserved for spamming and malicious acts. Trying to help a former contributor hardly falls into those categories.

I was waiting for all the horseplay to stop. Now it seems those intent on screwing around with Wiki are behind the curtain at VW. I hardly recognize this place these days. Diego, I take it you no longer are looking for my help with the Wiki project. Being banned is not the step towards sys ops.

Bizzaro World has come to VW Wiki.

VW Wiki Administrator gave me the boot for removing two images from two entries at the contributor's request. I edited and left the entries nice and tidy.

Today Administrator returns to revert the entries back, but he deleted the images. Now the pages show broken image links.

What's next? Will Administrator ban himself for doing exactly what I did? Or are broken image links preferred? Worse - will contributors' requests for removal be ignored?

I have no clue who is running the show here anymore. But someone should not let their children play on their computer keyboards when still logged in as Administrator with all its privileges. This site is devoted to amateur erotic photography, not amateur Administrators.

I do know that the Wiki had to be closed briefly to outside edits as a select few not-so-nice people decided to go in and replace good knowledge with Chinese and Russian symbols as well as nonsense spam. I am very sorry if you were banned, this should not have been as your intentions were good, and I have sent a message to ensure that your name will be removed from that list.

Seems you got about the same response as I did. Nothing.

Kiki, exactly to whom did you send a message?

Sorry I did not respond earlier, I am away in Africa and internet access is a bit spotty, although the beauty here more than makes up for that! I was told that they would check to ensure that your name was not on the banned list (you used FAQ right?), however I am unable to contact the tech guys right now to confirm this. I am guessing if you cannot make changes yet that they still have the Wiki closed to posting, but this is only a temporary measure until the interest in destroying the Wiki on VW dies down so we can manage the edits rather than being flooded with tons and tons of spammy Wiki changes.

A wiki without the capability of users to make changes is not a wiki at all. It makes zero sense to have the pages up if that is the case. VW is teaching all visitors to never return to the wiki pages to make changes. They are static and not for editing. The Administrator has also been locking pages and all content to those pages. Thus ensuring the page remains static forever.

If VW is not going to staff the wiki to review edits, they need to grant others admin privileges to ensure others can do that job for them. VW is becoming so anal and tight with such privileges, few are interested in helping VW. The spamming can be addressed. The destruction can be addressed, not by one VW staff member showing faint interest in the wiki project, but by turning that over to hundreds of VW users.

Your posts indicates just that "so we can manage" - it is clear VW ought not be calling it a wiki at all. Apparently, you do not understand what a wiki is suppose to be. VW does not manage it, the users do. But not without the tools to do so. Thus far, VW has shown little interest in making the wiki something. No help has been given. The opposite in fact, ban the users trying to help. And deny others the opportunity to make entries.

Lame excuses and reactionary remedies. Is this the face of the new VW?

Either support what a wiki is suppose to be, or remove the wiki completely. What you have now is pathetic and is completely disrespectful to the VW community. Contributors who requested their images be removed are being ignored, and visitors wanting to edit the entries are being denied and banned.

It takes two seconds to remove a ban from a user. Their inactions speak louder than anything. It is not "the tech guys" doing this. Tech guys do what they are told by others. It is someone higher up the food chain. Your refusal to name names is also telling that they are keeping you in the dark of what is happening.

I'm wondering why anyone would want to help VW hurt the contributors?

Look at what is happening to the Wiki. The spammers are coming back.

No one from VW cares. They are too busy still repairing the damage from when Ghost pulled the plug without backing up the site.

Add to that they are too paranoid about someone corrupting files to allow anyone to help them.

I've no clue what the new VW will become, but it will definitely never be anything like the old VW unless there is a big change.

And I've stopped submitting stolen contri reposts since they go ignored. Who cares if a thief gets the prize money? VW does not seem to care. They definitely did not if the legitimate contributors received past prize money
VW Official Response wrote:anyone who won, please submit an email in the next 30 seconds, or we'll not need to pay it.

btw, the techs tell us the email servers will be up and working any minute.
So it makes perfectly good sense to accept stolen contri and push out legitimate winners from future prize awards. If the real contributors are not shown ranked for prizes, they this new VW never needs to write checks. Oh, sure, write a few to keep the appearance. Good idea. Ignore all the reports to stolen contri.

And when wanting to pretend to run a legitimate contest, just merge the months together and only make half the payments. No one will notice, right?
