First, Mr Forbes is not a jet pilot.

However, his lay understanding is that -- in the ideal, at least -- a plane ought to come down on its landing gear to the tarmac as opposed to upside down.

can you tell the truth about anything? It did come down on it's landing gear, then science took over. Then the magnetic field of the universe took over and spared them all at 1.3 M mph....

Of course, the causes won't be known until a thorough investigation has been completed, and that will take many months.

What is known is that apparently some 26-year-old chick was at the controls, at least if the prelim reporting is accurate.
