So johnflubs reports that Republicans are complaining that FEMA has no disaster relief money, eh?
It's odd that johnfoibles would complain about that since Republicans didn't WANT FEMA to have disaster relief money. Republicans are the reason that disaster relief funds were not increased when Democrats tried to pass a bill increasing disaster relief funds even as Helene was baring down on Florida.
And the real tragic joke is that a lot of the Republicans who voted the funds down are from Florida.
"When Congress was debating a short-term government funding resolution last month, Democrats pushed for the bill to include billions in additional disaster-relief funding. A cohort of far-right conservatives favored a stripped-down resolution that didn't include the extra disaster-relief money - and ultimately got their way."
"The concessions still weren't enough for the nearly 100 Republicans in the House and Senate who voted against the resolution that passed - and the $20 billion funding base it allocated to FEMA as Hurricane Helene bore down on the East Coast. Many of those Republicans represent Florida, which is now bracing for Hurricane Milton. Reps. Aaron Bean, Gus Bilirakis, Kat Cammack, Byron Donalds, Matt Gaetz, Laurel Lee, Anna Paulina Luna, Cory Mills, Bill Posey, Mike Waltz, and Daniel Webster all voted against the bill in the House."
"Some of the Republicans who voted against funding FEMA are now calling for more money." (Well surprise, surprise...)

So apparently supposedly 'fiscally responsible' Republicans hate government spending---unless, of course, that money is to be spent on THEM and THEIR problems. THEN they want another 10 billion dollars. They thought it was a bad idea when Democrats tried to get it for the entire country. Now they think it's a great idea because clearly they believe THEIR problems deserve government money, but other people's problems don't.
So the idea is that first Republicans make sure there is no money allocated for disaster relief by voting down the funding bill. Then those same Republicans complain that FEMA doesn't have enough money for disaster relief and start calling for funding increases.
Why is it that every Republican is a fucking hypocrite? (You're obviously qualified to answer that one for us, johnny.)
