VW administration has repeatedly explained about the credit card process and that no credit card information was, nor could have been, stolen.
Since you refuse to believe them any other time they have said that you will probably continue to refuse to believe them no matter how many times you are told that. So it seems to me the only thing you are doing is trying to scare people about an issue that has been addressed multiple times.

If you don't trust VW to keep your credit card information safe, just don't rejoin.

It was not stated anywhere that physical servers were stolen from a data centre. Which would be very unlikely anyway, but a very open and shut legal case if so. Physical theft is much easier to prove than virtual theft.

It's real easy to call your credit card company and tell them your card was lost or stolen. They will cancel it immediately and issue a new number.
Sure beats spending 3 days on a BB pissing and moaning about it.

You didn't do any investigation, because you are completely wrong.

Having a merchant account does *NOT* give you access to credit card numbers. Your merchant account is with a credit card processor, and if you're accepting payments online, you probably also have a merchant gateway that accepts the online payments and forwards them to your processor.

Either way, you NEVER get the credit card numbers - that information is submitted to the gateway processor directly, and they only give the last 4 digits to the merchant.

But hey, don't let not having any clue what you're talking about stop you.

Hi Folks,
I have been an RC member for 10+ years and I too anxiously await its return. I am also a software developer for a major well known internet company. I have personally written software that processes credit card payments I would like to take a moment to explain how this works.

The payment page will capture the card info that you provide and wrap it in a message that will be sent to the credit card processing company. In the US that company will typically be Verisign who is owned by PayPal. The card company will return the result of the transaction (good, denied, etc..) and a TransactionId to the website. The website will typically store the transactionId along with other info in a database or data file. The actual credit card number and / or the CVC code are never stored by the website. Storing these values can make the site vulnerable to fraud and litigation. This is standard process.

So, assuming that RC follows standard card processing protocol. your card info would not be at risk. Hope this helps.

B/ Unless you are joing thru a 3rd paty Like CCBILL or Netbilling your card info is there for all to see.

My advise is only join sites with PROPER 3rd party billers like ccbill so you are assured of security and honesty.

Both sides of this shitfight have access to all your info, and this is only the begining of all the troble for all of us suckers

Nowhere on this site have I seen any statement from management that any servers were stolen. Only someone with inside information about what happened would have that information, if it is true. I doubt that if it was true the management would let that information out.

If it was not true, then only someone that has an interest in destroying the VW operation would be out spreading such slander. The person with the most to gain from VW going out of business is IGOR. Hence, RCL is IGOR.

I have been a RCBB for at least 10 years and have never had a funky charge on my credit card. I firmly believe that VW had secure processing software and from my experience, even the most rudimentary processing software has good encription. Again, RCL is attempting to scare you and drive you away from the RCBB.
