If you look at the history, Pence could have remanded the disputed electors to state legislatures for resolution pursuant to the Constitution, but of course he felt his function that day was just to rubberstamp.

Then the protesters outside did whatever they did, and there were apparently some agents or confidential informants, and they did whatever, and some cops let protesters in, and probably there were some genuinely weird events such as the wacko with Viking horns and then the cop who shot Ashli Babbitt dead with no warning shot, and we'll never probably be able to figure out all the nutty events that day unless Pelosi releases all the security video so we can find out what happened.

Then Democrats used it all for rhetorical and fundraising purposes.

There were no "disputed electors". All the electors were duly chosen by legal authorities following the laws of each state. All the elections were certified. This is not disputed. The Vice President cannot simply choose to ignore the votes of legally appointed electors as you are pretending he can. He would need some evidence that there was a legal dispute. To this day there isn't any evidence to support a legal dispute. There are only unsupported partisan disputes otherwise known as 'sour grapes' because they've got no evidence of any fraud. All proponents of widespread fraud conspiracy theories have been laughed out of court because they refuse to present any evidence to the judges to support their claims.

Also, there were NO alternate slates of legally appointed electors sent to D.C.. And there was no uncertified election in any of those states that could have allowed the Vice President to ignore the votes of the appointed electors that were sent to D.C..

He can't arbitrarily decide he won't accept the votes of legally chosen electors. Even if two months later it was learned that some election results were fraudulent (so far not a single one has, all Republican run audits in those states have supported the results of their elections) the outcome of the Electoral College vote (i.e. Biden winning) would not have been altered unless all five swing state elections were shown to be fraudulent. One fraudulent election wouldn't have changed anything. Two wouldn't have changed anything. Three still wouldn't have changed anything. Biden would still have won. So you're wasting your time on this nonsense. It is up to authorities in each state to ensure that future elections are not subject to fraud. That's all anyone can do. The past elections are all audited and certified.

They are just lists of people's names without any legal standing. A phone book from each state would have the same legal standing and would be just as meaningful. They are not "alternate electors". Now, when you can demonstrate that the elector votes counted by Pence were not from legally appointed electors appointed based on the certified election results, then let us know.

None of them were appointed by the people with the power to appoint electors, so they have no standing under law. Even if the elections were shown to be fraudulent, the phony lists would carry no legal weight and would not be counted.

If lists have no basis in state election law, then they aren't lists of "alternate electors" (which is a nonsensical, meaningless term. No such term exists in any of the state election laws.)
