Because of the hate that liberal spew about guns, about freedom, about self-reliance, you will hardly find this story in the news and certainly not on MSNBC or CNN unless they are condemning the actions of the defender of innocent people.

This type of thing happens far more often than the actions of liberals killing in masses.

Gun carrying man ends stabbing spree at Salt Lake grocery store

SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) - A citizen with a gun stopped a knife wielding man as he began stabbing people Thursday evening at the downtown Salt Lake City Smith's store.

Police say the suspect purchased a knife inside the store and then turned it into a weapon. Smith's employee Dorothy Espinoza says, "He pulled it out and stood outside the Smiths in the foyer. And just started stabbing people and yelling you killed my people. You killed my people."

Espinoza says, the knife wielding man seriously injured two people. "There is blood all over. One got stabbed in the stomach and got stabbed in the head and held his hands and got stabbed all over the arms."

Then, before the suspect could find another victim - a citizen with a gun stopped the madness. "A guy pulled gun on him and told him to drop his weapon or he would shoot him. So, he dropped his weapon and the people from Smith's grabbed him."

By the time officers arrived the suspect had been subdued by employees and shoppers. Police had high praise for gun carrying man who ended the hysteria. Lt. Brian Purvis said, "This was a volatile situation that could have gotten worse. We can only assume from what we saw it could have gotten worse. He was definitely in the right place at the right time."

Dozens of other shoppers, who too could have become victims, are also thankful for the gun carrying man. And many, like Danylle Julian, are still in shock from the experience. "Scary actually. Really scary. Five minutes before I walk out to my car. It could have been me."

Police say right now they have no idea what caused the suspect to go on the dangerous rampage. (We will update as soon as we learn new information.)

So far, police have not released the names of the suspect, the victims or the man who pulled the gun.

Leroy to a lib its a crime to own a gun and you have made some good points. But to a lib its ok to protest and destroy private property, to destroy public property that taxpayers have paid for and will have to pay for again to replace or repair. Its ok to destroy a public park, police vehicles and buildings. Its ok to spend millions on police baby sitting OWS while other go unprotected. Libs are a very selfish arrogant bunch of anti American thugs..

Close to 10,000 gun related deaths each year in this country does not counter the argument of one person protecting them selves . If ya want that argument to hold water, give me 10,000 more for last year, good luck...I'm not against guns, I own several but its kinda silly to use one attaboy against 10,000 oh shits. I feel owning a hand gun is a right in this country but not because of the second admendment. In my book the second admendment holds no water as an individual is not a "well regulated militia". And I dont think when the second admendnment was written ak47 ownership was discussed or argued. Its not a lib vs rep arguement, its a freedom argument.

No one has or is proposing banning guns. Politicians are even afraid to have reasonable discussions about rational gun policy. Yet, paranoid freaks feel the need to constantly spew all this false shit about taking away our freedoms. Freedoms are and always have been compromised by the need to protect more important rights. Like the right of the living to continue living. The REAL Right to Life. "Conservatives" seem to have no concern for that most precious right.

I'm just glad that Justdoit isn't in charge of the country or freedom.

The 2nd is clear, and if you understood the way of thinking at the time it was written, if you read their notes, you would see that the 2nd clearly covers owning an AK-47, a Howitzer, anything that an individual can own, as a means to protect the country from Government, period.
#9343
Justdoit funny how the media is on this isnt it. anytime one person gets shot its all over the news. Yet how many times have you heard about the guy who defended his family. Score Guy gets shot 1000000 guy saves family 2.

What everyone is missing is this. The main reason our forefathers created the 2nd amendment was to keep on person from becoming a dictator and taking over our country. Thats the only reason Obongo hasnt been able to take over as a self appointed king. Hes tried to eliminate guns and it hasnt happened yet...Thanks God!

If they ever try to take mine it will be a shoot out to the finish. And if they ever try to take my neighbors I will be there do defend him as will..

To you anti-gun zealots that claim guns kill more people than they save...

Law-Abiding citizens use guns to defend themselves against about 6800 times a day in the USA.

Even the Clinton administration had to concede that guns are used more than 1.5 million times each year to defend the firearm owner - legally.

Concealed Carry laws have reduced violent crime in every area that has enacted those laws - typically Murders by 8.5%, Rapes by 5%, Aggravated Assault by 7% and Robbery by 3%.

The Journal of the American Medical Association, found that the Brady registration law has failed to reduce murder rates. In August 2000, JAMA reported that states implementing waiting periods and background checks did "not [experience] reductions in homicide rates or overall suicide rates."

Twice as many children are killed playing football in school than are murdered by guns. That’s right. Despite what media coverage might seem to indicate, there are more deaths related to high school football than guns.

The CDC admits there is no evidence that gun control reduces crime. The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) has long been criticized for propagating questionable studies which gun control organizations have used in defense of their cause. But after analyzing 51 studies in 2003, the CDC concluded that the "evidence was insufficient to determine the effectiveness of any of these [firearms] laws."

A Research 2000 poll found that 85% of Americans would find it appropriate for a principal or teacher to use "a gun at school to defend the lives of students" to stop a school massacre.

A study claiming "guns are three times more likely to kill you than help you" is a total fraud. Even using the low figures from the Clinton Justice Department, firearms are used almost 50 times more often to save life than to take life. More importantly, however, the figure claiming one is three times more likely to be killed by one’s own gun is a total lie:

Researcher Don Kates reveals that all available data now indicates that the "home gun homicide victims [in the flawed study] were killed using guns not kept in the victim's home."

In other words, the victims were NOT murdered with their own guns! They were killed "by intruders who brought their own guns to the victim's household."

No matter how you liberals/idiots try and spin it, guns make the USA safer for the citizens that own them legally and use them legally despite your best efforts to make all citizens victims.

Why do liberals like you always want to take away my right to protect my "LIFE" and instead you want to protect the criminal so that he/she can TAKE MY LIFE with no possible defense against him/her?

Liberals seem to have no concern for self-protection, for self-reliance, and only want to impose subjugation, cowering, slavery, oppression, on the good citizens while protecting the rights of the criminals to harm everyone.
#9389
What can one say. We all belive what we need to justify our beliefs. If someone truly believes that more children are killed playing football than gun deaths, well ok I guess they can run with it.
I feel its disingenous to politicize gun ownership. This game of "your with us or against us" is just an immature argument.

Maybe another source is required here from someone
According to the National center for catastrophic sport ingury there has been 325 deaths in high school/college football programs from 1982-2008 (26 years). I just kinda bet ya thats a LOT less than gun related murders in high school/college age boys for the same time span.
Leroy what is your source for your fact?
#9410
According to the Supreme Court and Justice Scalia the state has the right and the responsibility to regulate individual ownership and possession of guns.
"Although we do not undertake an exhaustive historical analysis today of the full scope of the Second Amendment, nothing in our opinion should be taken to cast doubt on longstanding prohibitions on the possession of firearms by felons and the mentally ill, or laws forbidding the carrying of firearms in sensitive places such as schools and government buildings, or laws imposing conditions and qualifications on the commercial sale of arms."[45]

Your source appears to be missing a lot of data...

Please take 5-10 minutes to google and learn about the number of deaths in HS Football.
#9443
Still waiting
I gave a source Leroy, you gave a statement
In Chicago alone in 2008 there were 28 gun related student deaths.
"American academy of child and adolesent psychyatry, 2008" over 3000 gun related deaths of children in the US, highest of any industrilized country. The number of homicides of children in this countrythat year was 16 times higher than 25 other industrilized countrys COMBINED. Same source.
Leroy
give us your source of higher football related deaths.

WHAT THE FUCK!!! I SAY WE BAN CARS RIGHT NOW TODAY! OMG LOOK AT THE DEATHS THEY CAUSE!

Tragedy in the backseat: Hot-car deaths
Each year about 37 babies and toddlers die when they are accidentally left strapped in car safety seats or become trapped in vehicles that rapidly heat up.
http://www.cnn.com/2012/07/12/living/ho ... index.html

Experts: Child hot-car deaths more common than expected
INDIANAPOLIS – The news that two parents in separate central Indiana incidents left their young child in a sweltering vehicle during a record heat wave has stirred outrage, but national child car-safety advocates say that, in reality, it happens more often than people realize and it happens to all kinds of parents.
http://www.usatoday.com/news/health/sto ... 56125706/1

Car Crash Stats: There were nearly 6,420,000 auto accidents in the United States in 2005. The financial cost of these crashes is more than 230 Billion dollars. 2.9 million people were injured and 42,636 people killed. About 115 people die every day in vehicle crashes in the United States -- one death every 13 minutes.

You see.......

The best part of it all is this......

They could stop the sale of all guns and ammo right now today in America, and there would still be ten times the amount needed to overthrow the government already in the hands of the American public.

There have been more guns sold in this country over the past three years then past thirty years combined...... ;)
#9450
Actually, we do regulate cars.

So, the most conservative court in modern history affirms governments responsibility to regulate gun ownership. Even the most radically reactionary justices in modern court history affirm that responsibility. Yet, some morons still rant against ... well what? Oh, their totally made up fantasies about what evil liberals will do.
#9482
There have been more guns sold in this country over the past three years then past thirty years combined.

You can thank Odummy for that.

Now we need to ban all tires and seat covers and stop the sale of cars so they will stop killing . not more transmissions or sales of engines we have to stop cars from killing. maybe we should stop selling spoons, knifes and forks to keep people from getting fat......<-----good idea let do this..
#9490
Richard M Nixon: Guns are an abomination. I want to ban them.

Ronald Reagan: supports Bradey Bill

George H.W. Bush: ban import of assault weapons

Barack Obama: opens national parks to guns

Barack Obama: Yesterday.: The American people want assault weapons in the hands of soldiers (BTW: in agreement with over 70% of NRA members)

Then there are the paranoid delusions of our local morons as above.
#9497
Bill O'Reilley: all sales of heavy weapons or large quantities of ammunition should be reported to the FBI with the ID of the purchaser.

Shiiiit: NRA members overwhelmingly (>80%) believe that liar leroy and his kind should not be allowed to have weapons.

Dildo thinks I'm a threat, but I work with LE every year, and I'm not the one making violent threats or acting completely mentally disturbed (Dildo sure is).

Hey dildo, I even passed multiple screenings and interviews to get my instructors certification to teach teens how to safely shoot and the art of shooting sports, and it's local and state certified.

To be honest, if you could for just 1/100000 of a second, you are the type of people that the public is worried about - completely unstable, filled with hate, angry about everything, and you can't accept people with different views than your own.

All this is just pissing and moaning from BOTH sides...

The right to own and bear guns has already been settled by the Supremes....

Had they FAILED to protect that RIGHT, there surely would have been riots in the streets that would have Made OWS look like a girl scout knitting circle...

There is NO argument... Should be NO discussion... PERIOD...

We have the GOD GIVEN and constitutional RIGHT TO KEEP AND BARE ARMs...

I agree with nam.... there's going to be hell to pay for ANYONE who tries to take my guns away... enough said...
#9610
Settting aside the gung-ho views on amendment rights and resposibilities, raise your hats to responsible and safe gun ownership and use in the person of Kimberly Rhode, new olympic and world record skeet shooter.
Only one miss over three rounds and a clear round in the final.

Way to go ladies!
#9684
Antonin Scalia

It is up to the legislature and the courts to put restrictions on weapons. They have the power and we will see what they do.

The original Constitutional intent was NOT for unrestricted or unregulated ownership and possession of weapons.

There were restricts at the time of the Constitution.
There were restrictions on time, on places, on types of weapons that could be carried in public. One could not carry weapons that would intimidate the public.

The 2nd Amendment only applies to weapons that a single person could reasonably carry. You could not own a canon. The government may put such restrictions are they determine.
By Leroy
#9709
Dildumb, there was NO SUCH LIMIT on weapons/gun ownership, not even any intent of such limits as you claim. The only people even considering limiting gun/weapon ownership were the Brits until we kicked their asses.
#9748
Hey dildo bagfullof shit you said in your previous post you reported facts. from where did you get the info and where does it say guns are controlled in the constitutions. You are the idio daily douche you babble incoherently like a rambling idiot you are.

themission1428, everyone is entitled to an opinion, just like you, but, some people base their opinions on what they hope/want, others base them on facts and relevant information about the subject.

You show that you're just an idiot by suggesting that Scalia means anything to me - he hasn't and doesn't - he's just another person, an old one, that is going to sell out because he can't be touched.

Here is something you can't do - you can't show me where the founding fathers wanted to limit gun for the people of this country. You can't show me where the founding fathers didn't intend for the people to be able to overthrow the government when it becomes oppressive. You can't show me where the founding fathers believe there would never be any advances in weapon technology.

What we can show, through all of history, when you take away a people's ability to control government and to protect themselves, you get slaves and oppression.
