Just saying...

If VW wanted to be taken seriously, they could implement this requirement. Not hard to do.

VW requires that before they pay anyone for a winning contribution that they provide a verification image of the model holding a specific verification sign/card etc.

It would be nice if the verification can not be produced/submitted within the site's deadlines that the contribution be disqualified and removed and give the next available ranked contribution the winning spot.

If only the 'winners' are being checked in this way and there is no rollover and no associated ban, that explains a about the stolen contri situation, imagesbygordon.

Good call, FastFive. I'd even raise the bar from 'win' to 'make multiple posts' to really fix this problem.

Reddit's GoneWild didn't invent this scheme, but it's an example of doing it well. See https://www.reddit.com/r/gonewild/wiki/ ... rification" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; There's even a visual tutorial from one of the mods if that's too many words. :-)

You don't need a name, driver's license, or even a face. A hand-written sign with 'voyeurweb', the verification date, the poster's name, and enough photographic context to show this person/place is the one featured in the contri is really easy for someone staging a consensual shoot and eliminates the question of original material. Posters like imagesbygordon or dex33 would probably use a verification for each new model. Actually, imagesbygordon, you could probably hush the frequent 'stolen' comments just by adding this one shot in each set.

Part of reddit's strength (and weakness) is their moderator group. gonewild has 7 mods and way more submissions per day than VW has, probably even including the 'flash' sites - which are a total mess, too. At any time, if a mod sees a questionable post or a trend, they'll request verification from the poster and drop the ban hammer if one isn't received in a timely manner. Not every post or poster needs to be verified, but if you're asked for it by a mod, you have to provide it to keep on.

It wouldn't work for WIS - which we've seen is already totally overrun with fakes - but would work for RC, PS, FS, and NIP.

It can still be gamed, but it gets a lot harder. It takes a little bit of administrative work and a bit of setup[1], but would end the dik4fun and ramya and justbob serial copy-pasters.

[1] Each post and overview would show the verification state with a VW-Verified logo or something. An admin editable 'comments' field per user that shows on each post.A change to page/upload-rules - which probably should be inlined into contributions/create. Perhaps a private forum where the mods could discuss time off for shift trading, what's working well and what's not, problem reports, etc. A way for mods to receive reports that actually goes somewhere. Given the low volume (PS+FS+NIP averages about 10-15 contris a day combined - and about a 20-30% of them would likely go away once the scammers are thinned) it just wouldn't be a big deal with a couple of mods. Mods would need a way to archive posts (including from FB) posts from those unable to provide verification and prevent new uploads.
