Obama calls for less standardized testing in school. President Obama on Saturday called for limiting the amount of standardized educational testing to 2 percent of classroom time.,"Learning is about so much more than just filling in the right bubble, there's just a lot of testing going on, and it's not always terribly useful,in the worst case, it can sap the joy and fun out of the classroom for students and for teachers."

Obama’s efforts should be welcome news for teachers and their powerful and largely pro-Democrat unions who say educators’ performance evaluations shouldn’t be tied to standardized test scores.

"How much constitutes too much (testing) time is really difficult to answer," said Michael Casserly, the council's executive director. Casserly said his group found examples of testing redundancy that could be cut to create more creative instructional time.

Standardized testing does nothing more than test the ability to regurgitate facts and figures.

It does nothing to develop critical thinking and problem solving skills. The two attributes Forbes and Justme sorely lack!

Clown are you really that stupid? Testing is about determining your level of critical thinking and problem solving skills, based upon those results you can focus on training in needed areas.

That scares the shit out of liberals because it cuts into indoctrination time. They would be fine with full time indoctrination with no testing and everyone graduates. To them education means learning to march the party line.
