That she did Grumpy, I know I will never forget her! She and I held each other's hand through some pretty dark times. What a joyous Spirit she had right through to the end!
RB, I'm sad to tell you that Jewels is no longer with us. She celebrated her 70th birthday with us three years ago while she was fighting cancer. We never got to celebrate the 71st! She and I became fast friends across the miles of cyberspace!
She started posting on VW at the age of 60 believe it or not and while most of the pictures she posted were a few years old, (before age 65,) I can tell you that in the personal emailed pictures I received it was obvious she could have still been posting at 70 and would have disappointed no one! This picture with the green wig was taken just before Halloween after her 70th birthday. Chemo therapy was starting to take her hair but even completely bald she was still pretty damn sexy as a septuagenarian! We all should be so lucky!
As for me, I'm almost fully recovered from the surgery, still trying to get my strength back to normal, planning to be back in my PeterBilt for grape hauling season in August.
I am learning that being a cancer survivor and single is kind of like being a recent widower. Women just seem to come out of the woodwork, and the RC ladies are keeping me very busy. However, this social media stuff is tuff on an old guy with arthritic thumbs! But the fringe benefits are more than I ever would've expected!
