When Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton took office in 2011, Minnesota had more than a $6 billion dollar deficit and an unemployment rate of 7%. Today, Minnesota's unemployment rate is now below 4% and they have a budget surplus of over $1.2 billion dollars. How did Mark Dayton do this? Did he heed his Republican opponent Tom Emmer's advice?

Make no mistake, government cannot create the jobs we need to turn our economy around, but private business people can. State government can either help improve the necessary business climate – as I will do if elected governor – or it can hurt job development, as my opponents’ proposals to maintain the status quo would do.

No. No, he didn't.

During his first four years in office, Gov. Dayton raised the state income tax from 7.85 to 9.85 percent on individuals earning over $150,000, and on couples earning over $250,000 when filing jointly -- a tax increase of $2.1 billion. He's also agreed to raise Minnesota's minimum wage to $9.50 an hour by 2018, and passed a state law guaranteeing equal pay for women.

With such an outrageous "tax and spend" mentality, the next thing you know they'll be repairing the friggin' roads and bridges and sewer systems with the surplus, those sons of bitches.

Those Democrats and their gawdamn "fiscal responsibility"!
Raising taxes to a level that pays the bills and balances the budget.
Fuck them!

Without knowing a damn thing about the details....
Still, I am going to predict that things will NOT improve, and that "surplus" will be misappropriated
and wasted. Time will tell the story.

I contend that there is plenty of money to fix the roads, et.al. if our illustrious "leaders" would not waste what
they take.

Word.

This commie bastard is just plain unAmerican.

As a Senator he even voted against the Iraq war authorization. The traitor!

Next thing you know he will be trying to "promote the general welfare" or some such socialist nonsense.

Dayton’s False Claim: The economic climate will get better as long as I’m in office.

The Facts:

Minnesota ranks 41st in private sector job growth, it was 28th when he took office. “According to the new data, which everyone agrees is more reliable than the monthly numbers, Minnesota ranks 41st in the nation in private sector job growth as businesses and the wealthy flee thes ever increasing taxes Dayton.

The economic fallout continues in Kansas, where Republican Gov. Sam Brownback recently signed a public school funding overhaul that cut millions in funding for the current school year.

Two school districts in the state are now ending the academic year early, according to the Associated Press, because they can no longer afford to stay open under the new plan.

The governor’s proposal, which passed the Kansas House in mid-March but was slowed by a court order that challenged parts of the plan, replaces the state’s previous education funding formula with block grants for the next couple years until legislators finalize a new formula. Critics say the proposed formula takes away millions of dollars in much-needed funding, including about $51 million this school year alone.

Brownback has received the brunt of the blame for Kansas’ fiscal woes after he spent his first term slashing taxes and promising an economic boom that never came. Instead, his “real live experiment” in applying conservative tax principles led to debt downgrades, weak growth, and left the state’s finances in ruins.

According to Kansas Legislative Research, state spending on education this year is $2.971 billion, up from $2.710 billion last year. Next year it will spike to $3.057 billion. What most libtards fail to grasp is that when a public school system claims money was taken away from them, they mean they didn't get everything they demanded, so spending is up $300 million in Kansas but it's $51 million less than they demanded...so they call it a cut. Libtards suck at Intellectual debates.

Please note that this link is from the US Senate. Justme (as usual) does not give a link to his quote (in violation of US and International copyright laws.) With the absence of a link to his cut and paste his facts are in doubt. Minnesota's economics look pretty good over all accorfing to the US Senate.

Your own data shows incomes have went down under his leadership. Incomes have dropped an average of 5K in six years, dude income should be going up to keep up with 25% increase in costs for the average family under his leadership. How are costs going up 25% and income going down 5K a good thing for a family in Minnesota?

Picked one out of five; overall a positive report.
Costs up 25% for a family while their income goes down $5K under Governor Mark Dayton, but hey the rest of the report looks pretty damn impressive, more people are working harder for less, paying more just comes with it.

Tool, STOP-- you're making a fool of yourself again, and WHY?

Your usual gross ignorance, of course.
The numbers are not down $5k under Dayton.

Republican Tim Pawlenty was governor from 2003 through 2010.
The economy of Minnesota was doing okay until the Republican supervision took the economy into the dumper. You know, all those crappy numbers that started in 2008.
In 2011, Democrat Mark Dayton took over and the incomes have only gone up under his tenure.

So you see, it's five out of five. You're blaming Dayton for what the Republican Pawlenty did, making people work harder for less.

Tool, I've already deflated the ball as much as I can so that even you should be able to catch it.

The numbers were not down $5k under Dayton.
They were down more than $5k under Pawlenty in 2008.
Then they went up under Dayton.

Try sitting on the ball this time so you get ball-to-brains contact.
That might help you grasp the article a little better.

So do try to take every thing out of context so that it meets your pet theory?

So what were the spending increases for? Infrastructure spending I bet. Not increased operational costs.

The GOP through it's failed fiscal policies has cost the state hundreds of millions which could have been used to improve it's infrastructure. Now the GOP is content with being irresponsible and would rather let things rot...

Clown, hate to break this news to you, as a private business owner with an MBA, infrastructure improvements are considered operational costs, even for the government.
