Plus, it just makes no sense-- the entire concept of voyeurism is about people with all sizes, shapes and forms to freely express themselves in a platform where that expression is encouraged--- how does posting negative comments to that expression -- an act of encouragement. There will be none of that-- at least for as long as I am monitoring the site!
I have to disagree here. For many contributors, yes they do not want to see the negative. For others though, its just as important to know they are seeing what is really there, not some unknown, faceless entities filter.
I still say the best way is to give them a choice of o comments, comments only from registered names, and comments from anyone, including anonymous. Maybe implement some sort of filtering on newly registered names until they have made 10 comments or something like that, but afterwards unfiltered except in the case of something extreme. That lets those who want the protection choose the level of protection they want.
It is pretty easy to drift from a rule of nothing abusive to nothing negative to nothing not positive. The attraction of the site is that is is real. Just like MFF, filtering of comments changes it into a manufactured site, something far less interesting.
Any filtering needs to be carefully considered and judiciously applied. A blanket
