Nobody? I'm trying to determine sustainability of developing a contributor led website. My fear is that all the contributors are already happy and settled on VC. If that's the case, then this venture is dead before it has even started.

marmar, it appears many, if not most of the contributors to VW/RC have gone to VC, often reluctantly. Some have gone elsewhere, some seem to have gone to ground. If you read the other threads here you'll see a lot of ideas for a better new site, and I would venture that if you came up with one that had most of those ideas, eventually there would be a customer base. That said, I wouldn't invest any of my retirement money in this area of business...rough crowd.

Don't worry about where the contributors are posting, or even if they are posting. They will, as well as the viewers will move to any place that provides a better experience. The fact that many of them are showing up on VC should not be concerning to you...or even to VW. Right now it's the only game in town. Well, not really, but it's the closest thing there is to the old VW that's currently operating. Once there is another viable location, they will check it out and move if it looks more attractive. Even when VW was up and running before this fiasco, many of the regular contributors would show up on different sites from time to time...just to test the waters. Every site will have differences in operation and design, which will have an impact, but more importantly to every site will have a unique atmosphere, which is far more important to many contributors then anything else. That atmosphere is partially affected and controlled by the way the site operates, but is generally created by the users of the site. That's what everyone is referring to when they talk of the 'community' that we used to know as VW. Don't be discouraged by the fact that some people are currently at VC...right now they have no where else to go...

Most people who've posted a reason have cited the fact that this board is completely public / open to the entire internet, while VC at least has a login / membership requirement for the explicit posting boards.

Also, most of us ARE on VC, we just come here for the laughs and to see how many people are still desperately clinging to hope that something will revive over here.

Those few of us still left checking this board are just here to watch the train wreck continue.

Most of the best contributors have all gone to VC and said that they won't be coming back, some have gone away, and I'm sure there's one or two that will stick around no matter what.

Not many of the former members will be willing to fork over their credit card numbers to this site ever again after their suspicious/questionable behavior the last few weeks.

This site is dead.
