Were you here when the rash of Viagra and Cialis commercials appeared? Several registered users were posting them.
Additionally VW administration wants some basic control during the transition. It helps prevent people from posting offense items and things that bring nothing positive to the community.
It sucks, but it also keeps things basically civil, if slow. I disagree with it, but I have also seen some of the things people are posting over at the VC site, and personal attacks on the spokesperson are pretty uncalled for IMHO.
What happened to the 4-7 days was that it was overly optimistic. 2 weeks from tantrum is a more realistic timeframe and it is what is being discussed now. If you want to blame someone, blame the person that crashed the sites, claimed that they did nothing to them before they left, and then stated that there was no way to repair them in 4-7 days, even though they supposedly did nothing to them.
