Political discussions about everything

"TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — An analysis that was the basis of a highly criticized recommendation from Florida's surgeon general cautioning young men against getting the COVID-19 vaccine omitted information that showed catching the virus could increase the risk of a cardiac-related death much more than getting the mRNA shot, according to drafts of the analysis obtained by the Tampa Bay Times."

"The nonbinding recommendation made by Florida Surgeon General Joseph Ladapo last fall ran counter to the advice provided by the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Ladapo, a Harvard-trained medical doctor who was appointed by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis in 2021 to head the Florida Department of Health, has drawn intense scrutiny over his shared resistance with the Republican governor to COVID-19 mandates for vaccines and masks and other health policies endorsed by the federal government."-AP

So the Republican anti-vaxers intentionally gave a false impression of the risks of getting vaccinated by editing out the information that demonstrated that unvaccinated people had higher risk of heart issues if they contract COVID.

Republicans are happy to intentionally and knowingly put Americans at risk of greater health problems for purely partisan political bullshit. Florida is proof of this assertion.

johnny, your distraction from the quite serious issue of Republicans altering scientific reports for partisan reasons is not the least bit humorous, dimwit.

It is just more of your unfunny diversionary partisan tactics with the aim of destroying the meaning of science and facts in our public policies.

And you obviously still don't understand the phrase "shot in the arm"

Hypocritical partisan diversions to avoid an uncomfortable topic are never a "shot in the arm" to a discussion because they never lighten the mood nor revive a faltering discussion, (as your off-topic posts aimed at killing any discussion of this issue prove.)

You can't even contribute to this discussion because you actually support such partisan editing of scientific reports if it furthers your agenda. And that is the real danger of partisan assholes like you.

^^^^^^^^ See? johnforbes STILL can't even contribute to this discussion because hwe actually supports such partisan editing of scientific reports if it furthers his partisan agenda.

And that's the real danger of partisan assholes like johnforbes. He's STILL trying to divert from his inability to comment on this important topic. It's all he can do since his knowing support for dishonest Republicans makes him look so bad.

So they falsified the results of the study....

The shocked look on my face! :O

Everybody knew early on in the covid mess that young people were at very low risk of getting covid, and did not spread it well either.

There never was strong medical evidence for vaccine mandates for school kids.

In retrospect, there was no science to support 6 ' of social distance, and in retrospect lockdowns didn't really seem to do much other than slow the development of herd immunity either.

Follow the science -- which should be utterly neutral and nonpartisan.

"Everybody knew early on in the covid mess that young people were at very low risk of getting covid,..."-johnfibs

No, dimwit. What "everybody" but you knew was that young people had a low risk of DYING from COVID.

"...and did not spread it well either."-johnfibs

No, if they got infected, they spread it just like adults did. Just as they spread other corona viruses like colds and flu. There was nothing magical about children and COVID-19 as you are pretending.

There were entire schools that had to be closed because just a few kids started to spread it like wildfire in a matter of a couple days.

"There never was strong medical evidence for vaccine mandates for school kids."-Dishonestjohn

Of course there is no strong medical evidence for ANYTHING before there has been months to perform a study on something, dummy. meanwhile, when you have a safe and effective vaccine against an epidemic, you give it to EVERYONE as a reasonable precaution. The idea was to slow the disease down to a level where our healthcare system could cope with it. And the idea was to stop those with a low risk of death from spreading it back home to those with a high risk of death and complications.

It is idiotic to partisanly tout the speedy development of an effective vaccine and then stubbornly refuse to take it.

"In retrospect, there was no science to support 6 ' of social distance, and in retrospect lockdowns didn't really seem to do much other than slow the development of herd immunity either."-johnfoibles

Yes, hindsight is 20/20. That does not mean that public health officials shouldn't do the best they can with what they know at the time. That partisan hacks like johnforbes are still whining about a harmless yet potentially effective behavioral change that cost him nothing just boggles the mind. One can only put reasonable measures in place based on what they know at the time. 6' of distance was reasonable at the time until studies could be done.

Stop whining about people who desperately try to save your worthless life, fer cripes sake. I'm grateful for what they did. You aren't, and that demonstrates an amazing level of partisan stupidity.

"Follow the science -- which should be utterly neutral and nonpartisan."-Hypocritejohnny

Yet johnforbes just can't bring himself to criticize Republicans who are STILL editing scientific reports in a dangerous and partisan manner. And why? Just because he is utterly incapable of actually being neutral on a matter of science, as demonstrated by his highly partisan, inaccurate post yesterday.

If johnforbes could be neutral on the subject, he would say in so many words that the dangerous Republican editing of the scientific report in Florida is unconscionable partisan bullshit, the same way he would criticize any Democrats doing the same thing.

But he won't because he is merely another partisan hypocrite.
