But in truth, Lincoln wasn’t able to fill the seat before the November election because the Senate was not in session until December. Lincoln then pushed through a confirmation of Justice Salmon Chase the first chance he had — one day after the session began, historians told the outlet.

Trump was not honest about his Federal income taxes.

He was also not honest about dodging the draft.

Worst of all, he went to a fund raiser AFTER he had been told Hope Hicks had tested positive for COVID. Trump went without a mask anyway , was in a closed room with donors and endangered all their lives just to get his grubby hands on more money. He knows what kind of trouble he's in.

and a slew of other Republicans all insisted the nomination should wait for NINE MONTHS!

Now they think six weeks is too long to wait.

How do you know?

Candidates don't always release their income taxes.

I have been looking at Biden's, and he receives about 200k in pension from his 47 years in politics.

He had about 500k in income last year, so it was interesting reading. He doesn't give much to charity, but then Democrats seldom do.

You're always criticizing Biden for things that Trump is much worse at.

In this case, you don't need to ask how much Trump GAVE to charity with his alleged billions of dollars.

You need to ask how much he TOOK from charities, like his charity that the courts shut down for fraud.

He used his charity as a slush fund for the Trump Organization.

But that doesn't even register with johnforbes. He's laser-focused on the amount Biden actually does give instead of how much Trump takes.

So you DO realize that Biden gives money to charity and Trump takes millions from charities and commits fraud.

That is the truth proven in court that claim you are laser-focused on.

So why are you here pretending Biden is somehow unfit to be president for giving to charity while Trump is somehow fit to be president because he is a thief and a fraud?

Why do Republicans find such reprehensible behavior on Trump's part to be admirable and worthy of support?

johnny always has to throw in some weasel word to try to intentionally mislead while desperately trying to be technically correct.

We aren't talking about "candidates" right now. We are talking about the sitting President. And for the past 43 years ALL U.S. Presidents ALWAYS released their tax returns until Trump came along and had to hide his incompetence as a business man and his swishy $70,000-a-year comb-over hairdo. (I don't think johnforbes even spends that much on all his fruity drag queen stage outfits in a year.)

He also had to hide that he seldom paid any federal income tax because working people hate that. Republican working people would still hate that except for some reason they now admire it. That's how hypocritical Republicans are. They want those making $25,000 a year to support a family of four to pay thousands in federal income tax but believe billionaires shouldn't pay anything beyond maybe $750, if they pay even that.

It's really mystifying why Republicans believe everyone except the wealthy and super wealthy should pay income tax.

There's no explaining it.....other than low IQs and hypocrisy of the Republican base, of course.

I'd like to thank Clowntoker for his praise of my posts and for his courtesy on this fine autumn morning.

During the 16 years or so Al Gore was in the Congress, he famously did not invest in stock to avoid conflicts of interest.

Believe it or not, I actually had respect for that approach, even though Gore later cashed in on the energy frenzy, got 200 million dollars, and lives in an enormous house wasting more energy than a factory.

Biden was always known for having no money, and his net worth was less than a million except for the house on 3 acres he bought from a credit card executive while doing oversight of that industy.

So, to be fair, Biden doesn't contribute much to charity, but most Democrats don't. They want taxpayers to fund socialism instead.

No, "to be fair" you have to compare the worst thing you have on Biden concerning charities to the worst thing you have on Trump concerning charities.

So the worst thing johnforbes has on Biden concerning charities is that Biden gives money to them.
Meanwhile, the worst thing you have on Trump concerning charities is that he steals money from them, commits fraud with them, and illegally uses them as corporate slush funds.

Which would you say reflects the most poorly on the candidate, johnny? Let's see if you can answer that simple question.

If you notice, johnforbes couldn't contribute a single comment about Trump and his 'charitable giving' that was in any way superior to Biden's behavior, but he sees Biden's behavior as somehow insufficient.
