Of course a tweet is not an order, dimwit. Commanders in Chief can't be so sloppy and incompetent that orders aren't read by anyone not glued to twitter 24 hour a day. And no one in the military should be glued to twitter 24 hours a day, should they, Tool?

What ever happened to conservatives saying the legal channels that comprise the chain of command is all-important? This is just one more case of Trump's contempt for our military. He wants to destroy the clarity behind the rules of war for American soldiers. Why, I can't even imagine.

During the media interview, The Secretary of the Navy acknowledge the President's intent in the tweet that the guy would be able to retire as a Navy Seal, but then made a smart ass remark that he was proceeding with the board to remove him from the Seals because Trump didn't follow normal procedures and he didn't see it as an order. Wrong move as we now know

A smart Secretary of Navy would have told the press if that's the President's intent it would happen as the President desires. Then he should have contacted his boss the Secretary of Defense, and discussed the Tweet and how he should proceed. Instead he had to be a smart ass to make the media laugh, and as a result lost his job.

There is no military law that prevents the President from making a military decision. There are only laws saying other military members must abide by the President's decision, if they don't Trump can fire them. Just let someone in DOD defy Trump's direction and watch what happens to them.

If you had ever served in the military, any communication from a leader in what ever form that makes his intentions clear is to be followed. An illegal order would be ordering someone to do something "illegal".

If the Secretary of Navy was confused as to what Trump's intentions were in the Tweet he should have asked for clarification, instead of mocking the Tweet to the media. He lost his job and Trump is still President and the Navy followed the instructions in the Tweet. The Secretary of Defense was clear of Trump's intentions from the Tweet...and still has his job.
