Virginia Lt. Gov. Justin Fairfax issued a denial to an allegation of sexual assault that was originally reported to the Washington Post by the victim. Fairfax claimed yesterday that the Washington Post had thoroughly investigated the allegation and had concluded it was fabricated after the Post caught her in several lies and inconsistencies.
Upon the press release, the victim's attorney contact the Washington Post demanding they disclose the evidence that proves his client is a liar; the Post said the Lt Governor is wrong and unsure why he would claim the Washington Post had such evidence or that the Post doesn't believe her version of events. Essentially the Post called Fairfax a liar.

Graphic new details are emerging about a newly revealed allegation of sexual assault against Virginia Lt. Gov. Justin Fairfax, as The Washington Post pushes back against Fairfax’s claim that the newspaper found serious problems with the original accusation when it initially opted not to publish the account.Pass the popcorn, both the Governor and the Lt Governor of VA went before the media on the same day and lied about their pass misdeeds and were busted.
“The Post did not find red flags or inconsistencies within the allegations,’ as the Lt Governor Fairfax statement incorrectly said,” the Washington Post said in a story published Monday, sharply disputing the lieutenant governor's statement. "We decided not to run the story since Fairfax was in the middle of a political campaign and it was a "he said, she said" situation, the Post has no information that would discredit the woman making the allegations." The Post admitted they didn't contact law enforcement or encourage the woman to do so, due to the time that had passed and that she was in no current danger.
