It is to the advantage of the republicans if the electorate are not educated or at least well informed. Real facts vs real facts republicans will lose in an actual debate vs democrats. Their policies are just so out of touch with reality, narrow minded and just doesn't make sense.
Some of the steps the republicans does to dumb down Americans are :
1) Less funding on education blaming it on teachers by painting them as a whole.
Voter Fraud to suppress voter turn out.
2)No increase on minimum wage so Americans would work more jobs and barely have time to be well informed.
3)Tax cuts for the rich to make the rich richer and the poor more poorer. Widens the gap.
4)Cut social programs (social programs, medicare and medicaid) and spend money to pay tax cuts for the wealthy.
5)Destroy unions which are made up largely of the middle class. Not to mention policemen, firemen, teachers, nurses, janitors, waiters and waitresses, carpenters, plumbers, ambulance workers, etc.
How the heck you build an economy when you fuck the middle class at the expense of the 1percent ? There are more policemen or firemen than the 1 percent in out country.
Democrats are the opposite of all these because they believe a great economy is made up of the middle class. Not the 1percent.
Instead you find republicans passing bills on gun rights, banning abortion, banning gay marriage, and other cultural stuff that riles up their base but does entirely nothing to improve the economy.
