Harley Davidson motorcycles has taken their tax cut money not to create jobs, but in fact is doing just the opposite.

With their tax cut windfall, the company is going to have a big share by back and then shut down their Kansas City plant and eliminate 800 jobs there. They are also closing their Australia plant.
So where are the jobs going? 450 of them are moving to New York. But the rest are going to Harley's Thailand plant.

So Republicans are exporting manufacturing and jobs with their predictable and already failing trickle-down tax cuts.
https://www.fox47news.com/news/national ... eport-says

"In September 2017, House Speaker Paul Ryan traveled to a Harley-Davidson plant in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin, to tout the Republican tax bill, which President Trump would sign later that year. “Tax reform can put American manufacturers and American companies like Harley-Davidson on a much better footing to compete in the global economy and keep jobs here in America,” Ryan told workers and company leaders.

Four months later and 500 miles away in Kansas City, Missouri, 800 workers at a Harley-Davidson factory were told they would lose their jobs when the plant closed its doors and shifted operations to a facility in York, Pennsylvania — a net loss of 350 jobs. Workers and union representatives say they didn’t see it coming.

Just days later, the company announced a dividend increase and a stock buyback plan to repurchase 15 million of its shares, valued at about $696 million.

It’s a pattern that’s played out over and over since the tax cuts passed — companies profit, shareholders reap the benefits, and workers get left out. Corporate stock buybacks hit a record $178 billion in the first three months of 2018; average hourly earnings for American workers are up 67 cents over the past year. Harley-Davidson is an American symbol, and President Trump has trotted it out as an example of business success. But as it’s getting its tax cut, it’s outsourcing jobs and paying shareholders."

So corporations aren't creating jobs with their windfall. They are giving to shareholders and cutting jobs instead.
All those Trump voters at Harley Davidson are really getting their year-end bonus early. It's free unemployment the rest of the year! Yay Trump!

Give corporations more money and they screw American workers.

That's because millennials aren't into Harleys and less and less baby boomers are buying new Harleys. It's economics 101 dude. If you didn't see that coming you are really more stupid than I thought you were.

No, you imbecile, I DID see it coming. It's exactly what people like me were telling you would happen if the Republican tax cuts were put in place.

It's all you conservatards that insisted the tax cuts would cause businesses to create more jobs.

It's almost like you aren't even human. If you were human, you would know that corporations are by definition greedy, unfeeling assholes that will maximize profits and screw employees. It's written into corporate law.

Next you dimwits will act surprised when the national debt goes up faster under Trump than it did under Obama.

Come on, you are moronic.

As any intelligent person can see, I am saying that lower taxes on business doesn't magically lead to more jobs and greater investment in the U.S. Sometimes lower taxes lead to greater debt and fewer jobs.

Deficit spending in bad economic times is a good thing, like during WWII.
But after the war is over, you must pay down your debt during the good economic times.

Any fiscal conservative knows this and agrees with this. It is what I believe. I'm a fiscal conservative.
Unlike johnforbes who doesn't believe this. Donald Trump doesn't believe this. Republicans don't believe this. They believe in magic. They keep trying magic but it never works.

They call Democrats the "tax and spend" party.
But Republicans are the "don't tax but spend even more and party" party . It's insane and it's a ticking time bomb.

The Great Recession required a long period of increased deficit spending. But after we came out the other side, with nearly full employment and a healthy global economy, it was time to pay down that new debt and rebuild our infrastructure (which would actually create jobs.)

The Republican answer was to give wealthy people a huge windfall, screw over workers who get nearly nothing, (including millions having their health insurance taken away) while ignoring our crumbling infrastructure.

johnny, Hogwarts is not real. Harry Potter is not real. "Trickle down" magic wands are not real.
Saying corporate tax cuts in a global economy will lead to greater investment and job creation in the U.S. is not real.
People taking the money and running is real. It's human nature. It's predictable.

It's time for America to do the hard work and pay the piper before it's too late.
But Republicans will be maniacally fiddling while we burn.

Dems were tax and spend.

Obama DOUBLED the debt, more than all prior presidents.

Obama added 9 trillion (NINE TRILLION).

In the near term, it is very clear that Trump's tax cuts will add to that and I don't like that.

However, what every successful person has is a long-term vision, and in the long run tax cuts stimulate the economy and INCREASE tax revenues because the pie is bigger.

But most Dems simply can't understand that (JFK did though).

Elkin, surely you are smart enough to know that tax and spend is a recipe for disaster?

And you've got to grow up and stop using dumb labels such as "Tea Bagger" for people who sensibly dislike higher taxes.

The Boston Tea Party, and the recent Tea Party movement, were very good things in American history.

In the near term, it is very clear that Trump's tax cuts will add to that and I don't like that.

johnny, you're still living in the 1950s and ignoring the global economy.

The corporate tax cuts won't insure anything about stimulating the U.S. economy.

But even if they do stimulate the U.S. economy, there is no reason to believe U.S. workers will reap any of the benefit any longer, the way they did in the 50s.

Manufacturing will still be moved overseas and U.S. workers are still being laid off, as the Harley Davidson thing shows us.

It's so obvious even you should be able to understand it. It's even on FOX news.

Your a real joke Clownlicker. you think raising taxes stimulate the economy.. Where did you learn economics 101. From Bernie Sanders..

Of course tax cuts stimulate the economy dumb ass. All that money has to go someplace. Every penny thats being spent is stimulating it. All that extra money is being spent here
Paying bills
hiring someone
buying new appliances
going to a movie
going out to eat
getting gas
new tires
and the list goes on you ignorant American hating Marxist turd

You're a real joke, namandgulfdummbfuck. No one said anything about raising taxes, did they, you lying sack of shit.
We are talking about the idiotic idea of needlessly cutting taxes in prosperous times instead of paying down the debt, which is what fiscally conservative, responsible Americans would do. But that's not you, you ignorant American hating fascist turd.

Everything you listed is consumer spending from wages. Unfortunately, virtually none of the tax cuts are going to wage increases. 80% of the Republican tax windfall goes to the top 20% of the population, and they won't significantly increase their consumption. They already consume as much as they want.
They aren't going to buy more tires or more gas or go to more movies or go out to eat more, dimwit. To get increases in those things you would need to get money to the bottom half of the population, but the tax cuts don't go there.

But thanks for playing, dumbfuck.

Clown you really need to stop getting your facts out of Elks asshole.. If you watched the news you would have seen a large employer confront Pelosi (on national TV) the other day.. with the tax cuts his business gained he was able to give bonuses and raise wages of all his employees.. But then you never could read let alone comprehend. Next time get some real facts not something pulled out of someone asshole....

Well maybe instead of spending a tax windfall on share buybacks perhaps they should have spent the money on reinvesting back into the business to build motorcycles that millennials would actually like to buy.

Like the CEOs promised that they would...

You should be cheering for the share buybacks.

Good for shareholders.

As to the motorcycle business itself, it is rather unique because relatively few people in America actually need them as opposed to wanting them.

Its their money to do with as they please.. Yes I know this really pisses you freeloaders off..

By the way Elk thanks for admitting you know nothing about the motorcycle world.. Nada, zero, zilch..

One of the reasons its closing its doors is extremely high union wages. So why not send it someplace your not paying some beer swilling big headed union goon like Clown to make bike parts for $60.00 and hour plus benefits. If I were Harley I would be cutting cost too.. Other bikes are becoming more competitive and cheaper to buy..

Like Johnfrobs said.. Its a want item not a need item.. To bad union slugs dont understand this
