$12.8 Billion in Increased Tax Revenues from the GIs
The additional education for the returning GIs led to higher wages and more taxes for government. To be conservative, the report looked at how much extra taxes were paid by the 40 percent who would not have gone to college without the GI bill. Those extra taxes came to $12.8 billion (1952 dollars). As the chart below shows, the GI Bill was a tremendous investment for the United States. For every dollar invested in the GIs’ higher education, the government and economy received at least $6.90 in return.

Much of the world is pulling away from us because of our failed education system. Investing is education is a "no-brainer."

If more study is done on return-on-investment when the government spends our money things would better for all of us. To be fair much of government spending has little or no cost/benefit relationship.

Warning..for profit colleges have been shown to (many times) be of little benefit to college students and have been shown to be costly and lacking in quality.

LOL, our public school system is broken, not broke. We're tops in the world in spending but rank #28 out of 30 countries in education. Singapore is #1 and they spend 70% less per student than the United States. The libtard answer to our failed education system is we're not tossing enough money at it.

Any reasonable person would say let's take a look at those who are turning out smarter students, what are they doing different than us. But our government says, let's spend more, that'll fix it, end of discussion.

Look at the top school spending areas, like downtown D.C.

What do they get?

Young thugs who can't read.
