What's up with Bernie

He just bought a third home, this one a lake front home that he paid $600K cash for. Maybe my math isn't that great but during the campaign he claimed his total net worth was $528K and was one of the little people. I'm betting the 600K was part of his "buy off" to support Hillary and it came through the Clinton Foundation.

So tell us clown, how come all of sudden Bernie is rich and on a spending spree?

I read his financial disclosure, and he had two houses worth roughly 400k each if memory serves.
And his net worth was under 1 m.
600k cash?

The questions began with that handwritten note and the 50 percent stake that wasn’t 50 percent.
“The 30 percent equates to much more than 30 percent,” Trump explained. His reasoning was that he had not been required to put up money at the outset, so his 30 percent share seemed more valuable.
“Are you saying that the real estate community would interpret your interest to be 50 percent, even though in limited partnership agreements it’s 30 percent?” Ceresney asked.
“Smart people would,” Trump said.
“Smart people?”
“Smart people would say it’s much more than 30 percent.”

First you dimwits need to understand that if RealTool said it, it's made up stupid shit.
Why do you let him lead you around by the nose this way, johnforbes and sillydaddy?
"600k cash?"-johnforbes
Of course not, johnny. Tool said it so it's bullshit. Stop being so gullible, fer cripes sake.
Bernie didn't 'buy a third home' as Tool is pretending. And he didn't pay cash for the new house.
Criminy, why don't any of you reactionary clowns ever bother to question the crap RealTool posts?
You're all useful tools of RealTool and his scumbag handlers.
You dimwits need to understand that Sanders makes $174K a year and is going to have a pension coming from Congress of around $90,000 a year.
And he sold one of his two homes (johnforbes claims it was worth around $400K, so plus-or-minus.)
That's a good down payment and he has an income to easily support a $200-$400,000 mortgage these days and into the future.
But as for your dimwitted conspiracy theory without a shred of evidence, why do you imbeciles so readily jump to the most ridiculous conclusions and completely ignore the mundane rational explanations? Because your conservative handlers told you so and you never question what they tell you.
Your handlers are not your friends, dummies.
If you had any brains you would question every last thing they tell you. And certainly question everything Tool tells you.
There's not a single post he's ever made that contains the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.

I don't "claim" a thing about Bernie's finances.
All I did was read his financial disclosure, which showed him worth only about 800k.
Because he had not traded favors over his political career and gotten rich in a corrupt way like Lyndon Johnson, the Clintons, et al. did, Bernie's disclosure actualy increased my respect for him.
I disagree with his political views because you can't raise taxes now on the middle class, which is already under too many burdens.
It was in this context (having read his disclosure) that I was very surprised he could put his hands on 600k in cash.
So, in contrast with what Clowntoker posted (pure speculation), my post was packed with more facts than Hillary's pantsuit is packed with adult diapers.

My post is NOT pure speculation, johnny.
Bernie himself said he sold a house. That provided the means to buy the new home. Bernie said so. I didn't "speculate" about that.
His Senate salary IS $174,000 a year. I didn't "specualte" about that.
His pension WILL BE around $90,000. I didn't "speculate about that.
"It was in this context (having read his disclosure) that I was very surprised he could put his hands on 600k in cash."-johnforbes
And that's my point, johnny, there is no reason whatsoever to think Bernie got his hands on $600K cash except that RealTool said he did. And you simply believe all the bullshit he regularly posts. He sucks you in every time and you never learn.
When you heard Tool say Sanders paid cash when you knew perfectly well he doesn't have that kind of cash, then the first response of an intelligent person is to question RealTool's propaganda, not Sanders.
When RealTool post anything, your first response should always be to wonder what is wrong with it.
Stop being such a douche, for gods sake.

One of the best things anybody can do is take a single sheet of paper and jot down their various holdings, from savings accounts to houses owned to investments, and monitor it constantly.
Because reading financial disclosures is fascinating, I just looked up Bernie's 2014 one again.
He has a pension from the city of Burlington of 4800 per year, and his spouse is on two boards with compensation > 1000
His wife (isn't she a prof somewhere?) has the typical TIAA-CREF accounts, and there's nothing wrong with them. She probably has roughly 350 to 400k in those, but these days that would probably ber retirement.
Bernie has revolving debt in the form of 2 Visa cards, with debt roughly 25k, and he ought to pay that off right away.
Other than him owning two houses with mortgages, that's about it.
Pretty terrible for a person in his 70s and a history of steady income. Although he is a socialist, he must like stimulating the economy by spending his own money.

Now let's watch what he's worth by the end of 2017. I''d bet anything his net worth will grow by at least 500 percent as his payoffs come flowing in. Just as Hillary's did when became Sec of State. The left will ignore it just as they are his 600K purchase after endorsing Hillary.

"Pretty terrible for a person in his 70s and a history of steady income."-johnforbes
Huh? "terrible"? Are you kidding?
Bernie has everything he needs (and more) to last the rest of his life.
A place to live, a vacation home for his family, medical insurance, and the means to do what he wants and feed himself and his wife until they die. What more does ANYONE need, johnny?
The rest of the stuff you think is so important is just gravy. 95% of humanity (and 90% of U.S. citizens) would say he's doing better than fine.
You really need to get some perspective on what matters in life.

Now what did I tell you about The Tool's posts, johnny? Think.
Do you see any idiotic "speculation" here? Do you see any tell-tale signs of being a witless tool?
Do you see any clues to moronic trolling going on?
Do you see any absurdities that you should question before you get sucked in to his made up stupid shit?
Tool may actually teach you something (where your expensive education failed you) about being a mindless lemming and thus make you a better man.

I'd actually go a bit further.
Everybody here is very lucky. Sure, people disagree about politics, but then people always have and always will.
Those of us living in America today, as we sit tapping on computers in climate-controlled houses, are living better than 99 percent of the world.
And better than 99 percent of the people who ever lived on Earth.
I should jot them down and add them up, but I would say I've been to about 75 foreign lands.
You can see real poverty in SE Asia (where I first saw it), or Africa, or S America, etc.
My point about Bernie was different -- that he should be in much better financial condition given his age and steady income.
The same is true of Joe Biden, who has spent a lifetime in federal govt with decent income, yet is worth less than a million.
Is trying to increase your net worth a game to play just for fun? Sure, but a donor-advised charitable fund will eventually reap the benefits.
In Bernie's case, he is so poor he has nothing to leave really.
