Guns

A friend of mine posted this up. I don't know if it is original, but the message is clear and well stated.

I stand behind you in line at the store with a smile on my face...and a gun under my shirt and you are none the wiser, yet you are safer for having me next to you. I won't shoot you. My gun won't pull it's own trigger. It is securely holstered with the trigger covered. It can't just go off. However, rest assured that if a lunatic walks into the grocery store and pulls out a rifle, I will draw my pistol and protect myself and my family and therefore protect you and your family. I may get shot ...but, I won't die in a helpless blubbering heap on the floor begging for my life or my child's life. No, if I die it will be in a pile of spent shell casings. I won't be that victim. I choose not to be. As for you, I don't ask you to carry a gun. If you are not comfortable, then please don't. But I would like to keep my right to choose to not be a helpless victim. There is evil in the world and if evil has a gun, I want one too...

I see that it is not original....it has been around for a while.
I had never seen this before today.

It was not an "assault rifle" used in FL.

The bar was a gun-free zone.

Now we can have a good discussion of whether bars should be gun-free (alcohol and guns often don't mix well), but it was a gun-free zone and therefore a slaughterhouse.

Will a future terrorist obey the law if it is changed? No.

Another post that is on "target". (Get it?)

I'd like to call this guy (Jim Himes, (D) Connecticut) and ask him what gun law would have stopped this? Give me your idea of the perfect gun law , or even a better one, that would have stopped this!!! I'll be waiting!!

The guy legally purchased semi-automatic weapons. And then he used them to kill innocent people.

Doe this clown have some magical crystal ball he wants to give gun shops so they can know intent of each person buying a gun?

Let's talk about gun laws though, you mean like the one mandating that certain areas be gun free? Like say night clubs? Or colleges? Or schools? Or how about churches?

There was ALREADY a gun law in place saying you cannot take guns into that area and guess what, it was ignored. All these shootings have someone else in common besides guns: GUN-FREE ZONES!!

So this guys angry huh? Well guess what, America is angry at our idiot politicians who simply ignore the real issues in these murders whether it's because they have an agenda or they are just complete dumb motherfuckers..or both in this guys case!!

Jim Himes is the Demorat congressman that refused to honor the slain gay victims with a moment of silence going off on a God rant.

It's only a matter of time before a muzzie in a suicide vest blows himself up at a sporting event or crowded concert. If they use ceramic ball bearings (yes, there is such a thing) no metal detector will catch it.
This is going to happen. The only question is, how many must die before democrats start taking this situation seriously?

Re: Guns

Instead of taking actions democrats want to pass new restrictions over law abiding citizens. Criminals won't only ignore the laws, they'll become more deadly since law abiding citizens will have been hog tied for the slaughter.

There are lies, damned lies and statistics. I don't see Texas listed anywhere. North Dakota has about one fourth the population of Chicago, that has some of the strictest gun laws in the country, where 60 people were shot dead this past memorial day weekend.
My state, which has been open carry since forever, and allows CCW permits for anyone, without a criminal record, only rarely records a firearms related death. And then it usually involves drugs and people from somewhere else.

I am aware of a farmer around these parts , back in the '60s, who went everywhere wearing a double rig. That is, two six guns in holsters. Folks just figured that was his business and that was that. He never shot anybody, and for damn sure, nobody fucked with him. Which probably was the idea in the first place. In those days older folks remembered the bank failures of the late 20s and 30s and some kept a lot of cash around. This old coot probably did too and went around strapped to protect it. Far as I know, it worked.
You never need a gun until you do, and then you needed it 30 seconds ago.

Here in NYC, gun violence is the lowest since the 1960s.

So what new laws should be passed?
What would be the super, end-all, magic law that will reduce/eliminate mass shootings?

Any law passed will be broken by the mass shooter.

And you can rest assured that, if for instance, the registration laws as suggested in the above gun/car comparison were enacted....well the registration bureaucracy would bloom like worms on a dead body.

And the "registration fees" would be so expensive that they would be prohibitive for the average guy wanting a gun simply to protect himself, thus creating a new way to limit the ownership of guns.

And those fees would be wasted by the feds...never fear. It goes on and on.

Here in NYC, gun violence is the lowest since the 1960s.
NYPD reveals increases in homicides and gun violence across NYC compared to last year, with half as many stop-and-frisks
Dude, as Wilson would say "you lie". Gun violence in NYC is up even over last year. Libtards have even stopped police from taking the guns from the bad guys to enforce their own laws...but law abiding citizens are expected to OBEY. You guys are some stupid shits!

"Any law passed will be broken by the mass shooter."-tvd

Not true, not if the law is designed properly.

For example, if the gun show loophole for background checks were eliminated, a criminal with a record couldn't get around the background check.
Another example of a law that couldn't be avoided by criminals is that everyone on FBI watch lists or on no-fly lists could be prevented from buying guns when the background check is done.

You guys flippantly criticize the FBI for not arresting this guy when he was first looked at, but there wasn't enough to charge him with anything. A background check at the store would have shown he was being watched by the FBI and a purchase could have been denied at that point.

I expect every conservative here to get behind such reasonable proposals that cannot be avoided by criminals.
Let's watch as they all agree with such sensible protections being written into law.....

If the story on TV is accurate, the FBI even had some undercover agent try to tempt the killer into making some terrorist-related assertion, but the killer was clever enough not to fall for it.

Under that circumstance, it was tough for the FBI.

But bringing in a bunch of new immigrants from unsuccessful nations rife with Islamic terrorism is most unwise because we now see how second generation immigrants become domestic terrorists.

Checking them is a real problem, but the solution of the Left -- just bring in more uncheckable people -- amounts to total lunacy.

johnny, as you can see, this thread is about guns and gun laws.

Distracting to immigration issues doesn't help with the gun issue.
This shooter was not an immigrant. Immigration policies had nothing to do with it.

So are you on board with the sensible legislation proposed or not?

Re: Guns

Come on, the Left instantly began distracting people from the real issue -- the killer's ties to radical Islam (he mentioned ISIS and Islamic vengeance during the attack) -- with its diversion onto guns.

johnny, as you can see, this thread is about guns and gun laws.

Distracting to anything else unrelated on this thread doesn't help with the gun issue.
But apparently distractions are all your mind is capable of.
Comment on the topic, if you can.

Once again, on the gun issue, are you on board with the sensible legislation proposed or not?

Actually is was someone in the DOJ who told the FBI that he may be a "radical" but they hadn't "proved" he was going to follow through on his rants so ordered they back off.

There is something wrong in our Home Land Defense and DOJ.

...The same politicians who claim they'd like to restrict U.S. gun sales have flooded the world markets with the weaponry of mass slaughter. President Obama's administration has approved more weapons sales abroad than any other administration since World War II. Over 60 percent of those weapons have been sold to the Middle East. Add to that total huge quantities of U.S. weapons in the hands of the United States or its proxies in the Middle East -- or formerly in their hands but seized by ISIS....

Obama has led the way in giving arms to Egypt, Vietnam, etc.

And in releasing 150 billion to Iran, which -- sad to say -- is the world's leading state sponsor of terrorism.

Kerry even admitted that x percent of the 150 billion could go to fund terrorism.

It seems less like foreign policy than Left Wing theory run amok.

Elkin, you really are a juvenile moron.

Read what I posted above.

Elkin, you always try to pretend that you are bright and others with different political views are not.

And you always fail.

Elkin, you should try -- just once -- to actually deal with the substance of an issue.

Elkin, you've got to look in the mirror one day and realize you are just a lightly educated young partisan, with nothing particular going for you in the way of brainpower.
