The suit was brought by a firm which is a big Clinton contributor.

The judge presiding is a member of La Raza.

Talk about crooked...

So now the Trump and crew are telling everybody that a judge can't preside over the case because of ethnicity?

Is this some sort of conflict of interest...because Trump wants to build a wall that Mexico will have to pay for??????

Johnnie Dumbtardo's idiocy on steroids!!!!!

Nicely Done.........

Not ethnicity, but his membership in an offshoot of La Raza.

The judge ought to recuse himself for he'll surely be biased.

The Dishonest Attempt to Associate Gonzalo Curiel with “La Raza”

I want to say up front that I don’t really know much (anything) about Gonzalo Curiel, other than what I have read in the papers. He might be a good judge, he might be a terrible one. I’ve never practiced in front of him. I’ve been shown no evidence that he is a bad one, other than the fact that he rules against Donald Trump and his lawyers, which seems to be enough for Trump and his supporters, but it is not enough for me.

Based on a pretty good amount of evidence, Trump University was a fraud, Trump did lie about the extent of his participation in it, and the people he defrauded should have their day in court. I see no evidence that Curiel has done anything wrong whatsoever in this case, or improper.

Anyway, in addition to Trump’s overtly racist attack on Curiel, in which Trump explicitly said that Curiel cannot be trusted to rule fairly on any case involving Trump or any of his companies solely on the basis of his Mexican heritage, both Trump and certain lazy/dishonest conservative bloggers have attempted to affiliate Curiel with “La Raza.”

What they are attempting to do is associate Curiel with the National Council of La Raza, the radical left-wing and pro-illegal-immigration group that has gained significant notoriety in the news over the years as a group that is both anti-American and open to fomenting violent pro-immigration protests.

Curiel, however, has no affiliation with this group whatsoever. He is a member of La Raza Lawyers of California – aka the Latino Bar Association of California. They have absolutely no affiliation with National Council of La Raza. As far as I can tell, they appear to be a pretty garden variety special interest lawyers association. Every state has these chapters for Hispanic lawyers, black lawyers, women lawyers, Mormon lawyers, Christian lawyers, Jewish lawyers – you name it, there is a lawyer association for it in every state. They have meetings, everyone comes and eat lunch together, and they serve pretty much exclusively the function of networking, which is the lifeblood of legal business generation.

Maybe you find the existence of these groups distasteful and tacky, but that’s a separate point. The point is, no, Judge Curiel is not a member of or affiliated with the radical leftwing group that conservatives have come to know and hate, in spite of the surface level similarity of name.

johnforbes is so easily duped by his handlers.

It's tragic.

johnny couldn't list a single thing Curiel has ever done wrong professionally, but that doesn't stop johnforbes from condemning him out of hand.

Per contra, no judge -- i.e., a person who seeks to be impartial -- would join some lawyer-related offshoot of La Raza.

La Raza -- the race.

Reason, logic and facts mean nothing to emotion driven, knee jerk reactionaries like AssClown Loser Lucky and Elkindoofus.

Their masters tell them whom they must hate, and so they hate. Critical thinking is beyond they scope of their limited intellect.

Emoticons however, are fully compatible with their juvenile minds.

Trump is correct.....Curiel should not handle his case....

Curiel is a member of LA RAZA Lawyers Association, San Diego, CA chapter.....

In 2014. as a member of that chapter's scholarship selection committee,

He saw nothing wrong with awarding a scholarship to an illegal alien....

Excerpt:

While nearly all of the scholarship winners were born in another country Ricardo Elorza bragged about his accomplishments as an illegal.

Mr. Elorza immigration to the United States when he was 11 years old. In college, he led worships at high schools, non-profit organizations, colleges and parks where he talked about the DREAM ACT…. Mr. Elorza wishes to someday tell any student struggling with higher education, “Look, a boy from Oaxaca, who did not know English and is undocumented has now graduated from law school and is an attorney".

Seems to me that as a lawyer and a judge, Curiel knows better than most the importance of following the law...

But makes exceptions for Mexican illegal aliens.....

It is simply insane to talk about an illegal immigrant swearing an oath to uphold the law and be an officer of the court.

It shows horrible judgment for this judge to be a member of La Raza lawyers.

There's no way this guy could, or would, be fair to Trump.

Newt Gingrich: Trump's judge comments are "inexcusable"

Republican Newt Gingrich, a former speaker of the House and a staunch Donald Trump backer, criticized his party's presumptive presidential nominee Sunday for his recent controversial comments on the federal judge presiding over a Trump University lawsuit.

"This is one of the worst mistakes Trump has made. I think it's inexcusable," Gingrich told Fox News Sunday. "He has every right to criticize a judge. He has every right to say certain decisions aren't right and his attorneys can file to move the venue from the judge. But first of all this judge was born in Indiana. He is an American. Period."

Gingrich urged Trump to "move to a new level" for the general election.

"This is no longer the primaries," he said. "He's no longer an interesting contender. He is now the potential leader of the United States, and he's got to move his game up."

When asked if Trump's comments about the judge -- which included saying U.S. District Court Judge Gonzalo Curiel was biased because he's "very strongly pro-Mexican" -- raised questions about his temperament, the ex-House speaker replied in the affirmative.

"Of course it does," Gingrich said.

Gingrich is wrong if he understood what Trump actually said.

The judge is pro-Mexico to the extent that he is a member of La Raza Lawyers.

There's no way that judge will be fair to Trump and we all know it.

The judge thought he could fly under the radar and exert anti Trump influence without anyone noticing. Now everyone notices. He rules against Trump improperly and Trump burns him to the ground. He lets Trump slide and the America hating wet backs light him up.

Any way he turns his beans are refried.

The firm which brought this lawsuit has several ties to the Clintons.

This entire suit is crooked anyhow -- just another attempt to shake down a billionaire.

He should be debarred for participating in a racist organization, how in the hell can he be trusted to make unbiased decisions? This bullshit has to end and Trump is the only person who has stepped up to end it.

"La Raza -- the race."-johnfool

Apparently johnforbes has never learned a foreign language or he would understand that words in one language often don't translate into a single simple equivalency in English.

If he knew anything about Spanish he would know that "La Raza" can translate as "ethnic group" and not mean exactly the same thing as we mean by "race" in English.
It's sort of like "Irish policemen" or "Polish dancers" or "Hispanic lawyers" in this case.

But you clowns go ahead and be dragged around by your noses by your handlers over a non-issue.
Why should you stop being tools now? You wouldn't have any earthly value at all if that happened.

But you have nothing to say about the police who allowed Trump supporters to attack non-violent Hillary supporters at Trump rallies while arresting the guy who got attacked instead of the Trump supporter who committed assault and battery.

Are you going to call for their removal as well?
I didn't think so.

It "can" translate to other things?

Wow, what a shock.

But it means "The Race," and the reference is to the racial notion that somehow Mexico remains entitled to land now owned by the U.S.

It is insane for any "judge" to belong to such an entity.
