RC blows up and everyone starts to scramble.

I'm sure that the site will be back up in a week or so.

What makes me laugh is I wonder how many are going through withdrawals :D :D

When this has been part of your life for the past 13 of 14 years, it's funny to find out how much you miss it when it's not available.

Makes you think about how much it was a part of ones day.

I'm good but there was / is a lot of members that are MIA.

I wonder if they are just waiting to see if the old RC site comes back up.

There are a number of folks on the other site that don't know about this BB, that's where some of the MIA are.

I'm a member at both and still a lot of people that are MIA, some real regulars IMO.

Backups

Is there no backup of the website content and programs? It's had for me to believe that there would be no backup. Should be a simple restore and back and running within 24 hours. What's with that?

Maybe I'm way out in left field somewhere, but I would have thought some type of backup would be automatic. What if a server goes down? Raid drives?

Something just sounds a little fishy.

Suntann, true, there are still a lot of MIAs. There's going to be a LOT of cancelled subscriptions when this is all said and done.

Me Im going through withdrawals. As a disabled Vet believe it or not it helped me get through the days. From the sounds of it Igor really screwed up. What a bummer. Looking forward to the new site getting up and running and soon I hope.

Sorry but I have to admit... Missing RC big style!

Also worried about not being able to contact a few friends we only " know " thru RC, when we get back on I'll make sure I collect emails !!

Igor never was a nice guy. He started out as a guy who liked to look up women's skirts and sneak photos.. he even posted instructions on how to do this. During the first years of this site, his comments on the photos were usually very funny, but extremely harsh. In some weird way, this contributed to the popularity of the site. If a woman in the photos was heavy, he would accuse her of eating too much and tell her to lay off the burgers. If she had sagging breasts he would call them "sad-o-baggos"..and laugh about how her boobs pointed directly to the center of the earth. Viewers complained about his comments so much that he finally stopped commenting and got others to do it. Regardless..VW was a success, so copycat sites sprang to life and many of them experienced cyber attacks. Igor bragged about it on VW and called them copyrats. Like I said, he wasn't a nice guy at all.

It has been a long time for me also. Hubby and I are actually having to talk to each other. Guess that is good.

There is no way to trust a backup that may be compromised when it was your webmaster the created the problems making the backups.
