General Patraeus

CNN-The Defense Dept. has just announced that no further action will be taken against General Patraeus. He was allowed to plead to a misdemeanor charge for passing classified documents to his mistress (journalist.) He will keep his rank and be allowed to retire with full pension.

What is wrong here...doesn't anyone realize what effect precedent has on future cases brought before the courts? I guess this means that Snowden can come home and plead to a misdemeanor charge too. Does this mean that treason is now a misdemeanor?

Sorry for the rant but I am highly pissed off by the handling of this matter. There are too many "untouchables" in this world.

Agree, there are lower ranking soldiers in prison for doing less than what Patraeus concerning mishandling classified documents. What Hillary did is 100 times worse, if she isn't jailed how can they fire or prosecute anyone in the federal government for doing the same? Every intelligence agency head is in agreement, our enemies have every secret that passed through that server. Hillary's defense "I did it for my convenience"

Petraeus wanted to be a career soldier, so he sat in the safety of West Point while draftees fought the biggest war of his lifetime.

He was injured, but only when some trainee stateside accidentally shot him, and it was former senator Frist who did his surgery.

Petraeus was bright, but taxpayers paid for his PhD at Princeton.

All that aside, apparently he had some good ideas as a deskbound general.

But he gave classified material to some gal he was banging. Hillary did much, much worse, but still...

He is not guilty of treason. Poor judgement as a result of pussy (which has brought low many men), but not treason.
