Because it looks scary? Please tell us.
The term "assault weapon" didn't exist in the lexicon of firearms, it was invented as a political term, developed by anti-gun turds. What some people call "assault weapons" function like every other normal firearm—they fire only one bullet each time the trigger is pulled.
So libtards please tell us what makes a weapon that only fires one round per finger pull an assault weapon.

They may have in mind the "frightening" appearance of them?
From a functional standpoint, a min 14, etc. could do much the same.

I think libtards are being racists, if the rifle is black, they're afraid of it and call it names they don't call the lighter colored rifles.

Why it's the black color, the pistol grip and the flash hider (which, as any former soldier or Marine knows, is intended to preserve the shooters vision during a night battle, NOT to hide the flash from the one who was being shot at). These weapons frighten liberal girly men. The underlying technology is over 100 years old, and most times a pump shotgun loaded with 00 buckshot would be more lethal. But libtards are more interested in their emotions driven, knee jerk reactions.

Assault rifle was a term coined by the gun industry as a marketing ploy to sell 'military style' weaponry to the public.
Now that the public wants to ban these weapons the gun nuts are arguing semantics to down play the lethality of the firearms.
Regardless in the manner that you try to frame the argument, the AR-15 is essentially a combat weapon. And no Intreptardo, a shotgun is not a firearm used in combat you jackass!

Elkin, you don't know what you are talking about.
There are many combat uses for them, which is why we were qualified in Basic on a 12 gauge.

Starting with the Winchester Model 97 in WI, the famous "Trench gun" the shotgun has been in service ever since. Just because Elkindoofus, the Stupidest Person On The Internet, has never heard of it means nothing.

Do you understand why the M-4 is "standard issue" not the trench gun?

First of all only libtards want to ban weapons, secondly explain the semantics you're talking about. Are you arguing black rifles are more lethal than the others?

Elkindoofus, the M4 may be the standard service rifle, but you said the military does not use shotguns. Once again, you have no idea what you are talking about. As I said, during WWI the military issued the venerable Winchester Model 97, a tube fed, pump action, exposed hammer shotgun extremely effective in the trench warfare of the time. Shotguns have been in the field with the Army and Marines ever since. Many soldiers and Marines walking point in Viet Nam carried a shotgun as did Navy SEALs. Some were equipped with the "Duck BIll" modification to the muzzle designed to spread the shot in a wide, horizontal pattern.
We all know you are stupid, you prove it every day. There is no need to continually reinforce the idea.
(I'll bet you were that guy, first day on the range, when the DI told the recruits to select single fire and you ripped off a three round burst, right?. Typical for a shitheel who grew up in New Jerk City with no firearms familiarity)
