United AL CEO Smisek, under a Federal investigation, stepped down. Don't feel sorry for him though, he isn't hurting for money just yet. This is his severance package:
• A lump-sum cash “Separation Payment” of $4.875 million.

• An “Annual Incentive Award” for fiscal year 2015 and other longer-term financial awards for 2013-2015 if the company meets certain performance targets.

• 60,746 shares of the company’s common stock. At the current stock price of around $56.70, that’s worth more than $3.4 million.

• “Flight benefits,” meaning the former CEO can continue to fly on United planes for free. He also gets free parking at United airport lots in Chicago and Houston for the rest of his life — and he’ll be parking the company car that will belongs to him after the airline transfers the title to his name.

For all this, Smisek agrees to not do anything for two years that would compete with United, nor can he solicit any United staffers or clients.
The total of the severance package will be between 24 aqnd 28 million depending on the size of the "Incentive Awards."

Note: Remeber Nardelli, Ex-CEO of Home Depot? He left with a 247 million severance package after he was fired for his job performance (or lack thereof.)

As an investor, I always find such reports awful.

Shareholders should be able to vote, in advance, with clear knowledge, before any of these absurd separation and compensation packages.

At least they made him step down, we have Federal employees who have done much worse and nothing happens to them, look at Hillary, her crimes are 100X's worse, she's also under Federal investigation, she has a multi billion dollar slush fund from bribes using her federal position and is actually running for President...what kind of wacky world do we live in that "anyone" is OK with that, but has a problem with a CEO only being fired for lesser crimes?

So Snake who is biggest villain in your eyes the CEO or Hillary?

Damn, it doesn't take much to get you spinning around in circles does it Justme. First, I have no problem with a board firing a CEO (I don't know where you came up with that one.) Second, I've stated before that Clinton (both) are corrupt and I believe that they use government for their personal gain and they feel that they are entitled to all that they can con the people out of.

I'd sit out an election before I would vote for Hillary. I'm sure that if she would become President she would leave office the richest woman in the world.

Then you have my apologizes, carry on.
