Contri views

Hi,
I'm quite new to VW - compared to some of the REAL old timers here, it seems. I have posted a few things, though, and one thing that I have noticed is that the "contri views" count is extremely high here on VW in comparison to any other site with similar content. At least any site I have found.
My kicks from posting is proportional with number of views, so I am thrilled to sum up "contri views" to actual -millions-.
But, because of the extremely high counts, it is a little hard to actually believe firmly in the counts. Does anyone have any thoughts or experience with these counts? Are they for real?
