The Prolem with McCain as a Veteran

The problem all along with McCain as a representative of the Vietnam War generation was that he was not typical.

McCain, the son of an admiral, was a lousy student at the Naval Academy by his own admission.

McCain's time as a POW was bad. I wouldn't want to spend 5 minutes as a POW much less 5 yrs.

But McCain has dined out for decades on that. He was constantly elected from Arizona, but what did he do for Viet vets and what did he do to protect America from illegal immigrants?

McCan't can be proud he served and we thank him for his service, but he's been retired a long time and just continues to draw his Senate check. He needs to move over and let fresh new blood enter the game, in fact there are probably 50 elderly members of Congress and the Senate who need accept they're burnt out and tired, just as Justice Ginsburg get's lost and can't find her way back to the courtroom when she goes to take a poop, they are no longer all there.

Yep, isn't it sort of like a boxer who doesn't know when to retire?

If you are Ronda Rousey, for example, you want to retire now while undefeated -- not after some good martial artist exposes your inadequate standup.

Rocky Marciano, who fought as a heavyweight but was really only a light heavyweight, knew when to retire and that was when he was undefeated.

Had McCain retired a decade ago, perhaps he could have left with his reputation and spent his time spending rich wife Cindy's money.
