Here are ten charts showing wealth and taxes in America. Particularly, the second chart is the most shocking. Is chart seems to refute what the Tea Party preaches.

Having grown up doing agricultural manual labor for less than the minimum wage (then a buck an hour), I've seen both sides of this modern inequality debate.

One of the odd effects of Obama's horrible tenure in the White House has been the exacerbation of wealth inequality.

With the Fed holding rates at historic, unprecedented low levels for years, corporations were able to recover profit levels from the Crash of 08 and the stock market has risen.

Meanwhile, Obama's welfare state has left America itself worse off -- with 18 trillion in debt, 46 million on food stamps, and race-baiting from Obama and Holder.

I picked up an older book by David Cay Johnston called "Perfectly Legal." The copyright is 2003. If you read it you will find that this wealth inequality started, to a lesser extent, in the 70's. In the 90's the push to "save the down-trodden rich from taxes" really got under way. Then good old GW gave the rich his famous unfunded tax breaks which Obama has been taking the blame for since he was inaugurated. I'm no fan of Obama but I feel that the blame should be placed where it belongs. It was on "60 Minutes" last night that were 591 changes to the tax code last year, most giving the top tax-payers even more breaks.

I think it's very unfair that 20% of Americans pay 90% of the taxes. Our tax system is broke, we need a flat tax so that everyone contributes and has to pay up if they want more social or feel good government spending. Good thread.
