Up to a Million American taxpayers will have to wait several months for tax refunds because of an Obamacare fuckup. The Obama administration has notified 800K taxpayers that the information sent to them on tax form 1095-A is incorrect.
Tax form 1095-A is used to inform taxpayers of healthcare premiums paid and also used to calculate premium health care tax credits.
Corrected forms will not be issued until March.
California has it's own fuck ups to correct.
I see all sort of problems developing on this one.

Bingo. Obamacare is costing more to run than the cost of the insurance resulting in it costing tax payers an average of $50K a year to insure one person.

Do you really think if they lay off more people, asshole tax cheats like you will get away with un-audited tax returns! You know the less people they have will result in longer audit times and higher penalties for unpaid taxes.

Of course the IRS is bloated, every government agency is bloated, the more people they have the more important they feel, it's all about power on the tax payer's dime. It the IRS was privatized it could be operated more effectively with half the number of people, plus they wouldn't base their audits on political lines. It's the same reason Obamacare is costing tax payers to shell out an average of $50K to insure one person.

Better yet, go with a flat tax then slash the IRS by 90%, billions of dollars in operational costs plus no way for people to avoid paying their fair share, if they buy something they're forced to pay their taxes.

The IRS may be what it is....but it is not the villain in this case. The form 1095-A is a new form sent to taxpayers by a third party, the Marketplace. Taxpayers need it to file their tax returns....it is as important as a W-2.
If a taxpayer loses the 1095-A, or is incorrect, the IRS cannot help them..they have to contact the Marketplace
where the form originated.

There is a strong suspicion that the Obama Administration knew of this problem but allowed the Marketplace
to issue the incorrect 1095-A s anyway.

It's not a big deal. I've received amended 1099s from my broker.

You just amend your tax return...

To the poor idiot that has to pay someone to help him with his tax return in the first place....having to pay again to file an amended return is a big deal.

You can file an amended return using turbo tax which typically costs 40-50 bucks. I can't remember the last time I 'manually' filled out a tax return...
