During the 2014 NAR real estate conference a report was presented identifying the 25 most dangerous neighborhoods in America. The report has resulted in an investigation by the Department of Justice for possible racial bias, the same 25 neighborhoods also represent neighborhoods identified with the highest concentration of blacks.

A National Association of Realtors spokeswoman defended the report explaining, “FBI data was used compiled from all 17,000 local law enforcement agencies in America. Law Enforcement has identified these neighborhoods as the epicenters of violence in America, where social issues are likely to ignite into violence and spread. This is valuable information for home buyers, as realtors we have an obligation to disclose it.”
